It ought to be recognised that so far, nearly all the examples of worrying agentic behaviour seem to have been seen only in one context – that of frontier research labs doing cybersecurity projects and screwing up their sandbox precautions. This makes it quite annoying, as there is that feeling of “it turns out that I am bad at my job – this is a huge problem for society!” which is familiar from the financial crisis. Sadly, the mere fact that something is annoying doesn’t mean it can be dismissed. But the labs could help themselves a bit by taking a slightly more apologetic tone.

I'm surprised about this too! See eg below. I started the session by giving context to Opus 5, which then looked at the Quarto 1 repo, found (correctly) the relevant open issues, and (correctly) noticed the architecture change in Quarto 2 I designed for this. That took Opus **3 minutes**.

It's right there. The problem with this phrasing is any situation where one class nets job and the other doesn't, you get to "100%" figures, and that is misleading. %s and subtraction don't mix I'm not disputing that it sucks for women in tyool 2026! But we can do better than sloppy text.
