Claire S (UK not USA) @csav55.eurosky.social · 3hI've never heard of it, thanks for the info, I'll sign the petition now. 110
Claire S (UK not USA) @csav55.eurosky.social · 3hSexist too, my OH does our weekly shop in Waitrose, he's a Labour party member and would never vote Tory. 010
Claire S (UK not USA) @csav55.eurosky.social · 4hDefinitely, it's party before country which is the default mode of the Tories but I thought better of Labour, this is why I struggle to get past how Burnham plotted to oust Starmer for at least a year. It's a stain on the Labour party IMHO. 050
Claire S (UK not USA) @csav55.eurosky.social · 4hThey certainly did, they allowed themselves to be led by the nose by a media who hated Starmer from the day he became party leader. Instead of supporting Starmer the PLP joined in. 080
Claire S (UK not USA) @csav55.eurosky.social · 4hAnd the free breakfast clubs and additional free childcare hours, I've seen it reported they're worth up to £10k a year to some families. 000
Claire S (UK not USA) @csav55.eurosky.social · 4hI've been watching a squirrel digging in the grass for buried treasure, they're so entertaining. 010
Claire S (UK not USA) @csav55.eurosky.social · 4hI think Burnham made a big mistake getting rid of Rachel Reeves, she's well respected and didn't deserve to be pushed out. It was petty and totally unnecessary, it's another reason I'm not a fan of Burnham. 3302
Claire S (UK not USA) @csav55.eurosky.social · 23hNo she didn't, he wiped the floor with her every week, I watched and listened every week, can we stop airbushing Starmer's achievements away please. Oh and Starmer never had a folder, not that it matters, they're both way more accomplished than she is. 000
Claire S (UK not USA) @csav55.eurosky.social · 23hAs it was with Starmer, the Guardian was one of the worst offenders with the never ended unnamed source articles, all aimed at destabilising the Government. 010
Claire S (UK not USA) @csav55.eurosky.social · 23hThat's probably about right, everything he's proposing which isn't a re-announcement of an existing policy is for the next manifesto. He nedds a couple of years to consolidate so October 2028 or early 2029 sounds his best option. Lib Dems please get your act together before then. 010
Claire S (UK not USA) @csav55.eurosky.social · 14/10/2026He'd be a bloody fool to call an early GE, there's 3 years before there has to be a GE. As we've seen in just the last few weeks an awful lot can and will happen before 2029. 100
Claire S (UK not USA) @csav55.eurosky.social · 14/10/2026Reading some of the accusations against him reminded me of my early days at work, it was fairly standard behaviour by some men, unwanted touching, lewd comments and rarely challenged by the other men. I do hope it's not happening now but I'm doubtful. 010
Claire S (UK not USA) @csav55.eurosky.social · 14/10/2026Oh my, how far he's fallen, he was great on LBC for a while rhen he went totally batshit. 010
Claire S (UK not USA) @csav55.eurosky.social · 14/10/2026Burnham is the PM, like Starmer before him he has to be circumspect about what he says, its very easy to say the popular thing when you're in opposition and your words have no consequences. 000
Claire S (UK not USA) @csav55.eurosky.social · 14/10/2026I remember Starmer saying to her she's relying on a pre prepared answer despite it being proved to be incorrect, she can't think on her feet and just ploughs on regardless. 010
Claire S (UK not USA) @csav55.eurosky.social · 14/10/2026Tbf Starmer wiped the floor with her week in and week out too, neither Burnham or Starmer before him resort to lies and both are very well prepared. 100
Claire S (UK not USA) @csav55.eurosky.social · 14/10/2026She's really rubbish at PMQ's, Starmer wiped the floor with her week in and week out and Burnham is too, mainly because neither of them need to make stuff up and are well prepared. 020
Claire S (UK not USA) @csav55.eurosky.social · 14/10/2026It's absolutely pathetic isn't it, how the hell is it news that the Manchester Mayor met the owners of one of the 2 biggest clubs in the area. Does anyone fall for this guff, oh hang on, let's ask Starmer. 1140
Claire S (UK not USA) @csav55.eurosky.social · 14/10/2026But shock horror when Andy Burnham was Mayor of Manchester he had lunch at Manchester City. 020
Reposted by Claire S (UK not USA)Daily Herald #FBPE #NAFO 🇬🇧🇺🇦🇬🇱 @dailyherald.bsky.social · 14/10/2026Reform UK has now lost 173 councillors: 60 resigned, 47 went Independent, 30 defected, 24 were kicked out, 5 lost their seats, 5 are suspended and 2 were disqualified. Alan Feeney and Chris Whelan take Birmingham to three departures, all of them crossing to the Independents. 33521
Claire S (UK not USA) @csav55.eurosky.social · 14/10/2026This is typical of our 2nd rate media, it's the hostility Starmer faced every day, field and curry gate for example. 010
Claire S (UK not USA) @csav55.eurosky.social · 14/10/2026He got a caution, I think because the young woman didn't want to make a complaint. Farage of course did make a complaint when he had a milk shake chucked at him. 110
Claire S (UK not USA) @csav55.eurosky.social · 14/10/2026Apparently, as was buying your Mum a field so she could see he beloved donkeys or sitting in the Director's box so your fellow season ticket holders wouldn't be displaced, the media never overlooks a mole hill when it's a Labour PM. 000
Claire S (UK not USA) @csav55.eurosky.social · 14/10/2026I just don't get it, the print media is owned by billionaires who hate Labour, TV broadcasters used the front pages to set the agenda for the next days news and the cycle continues every day, the vicious circle of hell. That's my only explanation apart from their harted of him when he was DPP. 010
Reposted by Claire S (UK not USA)Otto English @ottoenglish.bsky.social · 13/10/2026More of this please 221235384
Claire S (UK not USA) @csav55.eurosky.social · 14/10/2026Me neither, as DPP he gave the go ahead to prosecute journalists caught out in Operation Elveden so maybe just revenge. The media had it in for Starmer from the day he became party leader, remember all the nonsense about a donkey field. The continued Starmer bashing will rub off on Burnham maybe? 110
Claire S (UK not USA) @csav55.eurosky.social · 13/10/2026He also took action against Russian interference, didn't specifically mention Brexit but this policy document is worth a read. 082
Claire S (UK not USA) @csav55.eurosky.social · 13/10/2026Thanks for finding this, Starmer said plenty about Brexit and Farage but it was ignored by the media. 120
Claire S (UK not USA) @csav55.eurosky.social · 13/10/2026Starmer voiced his opinion on Brexit many times, he said this in December 2025, not having a dig at you or Burnham but it's really not fair to suggest Starmer didn't voice his opinions about Brexit. 132
Claire S (UK not USA) @csav55.eurosky.social · 13/10/2026That happens in the UK too, it's a nice touch. 0200
Claire S (UK not USA) @csav55.eurosky.social · 13/10/2026It's dreadful, how can the Greens allow this to happen, Polanski needs to step up now before it's too late. 000
Claire S (UK not USA) @csav55.eurosky.social · 13/10/2026I've just been blocked by someone I thought I was having a friendly conversation with about what Burnham is saying about Brexit, oh well. 120
Claire S (UK not USA) @csav55.eurosky.social · 13/10/2026Nothing at all, people are kidding themselves if they think he's saying anything else. Like just about everything he's said since he became PM he's talking about after the next GE. 120
Claire S (UK not USA) @csav55.eurosky.social · 13/10/2026It's not what he was saying when he was campaigning in Makerfield. 000
Claire S (UK not USA) @csav55.eurosky.social · 13/10/2026I keep saying this, he wasn't awarded the Legion d'honneur for fun, it's a huge honour. All I ask is people acknowledge what he's done and stop littering every post about anything Burnham says with more Starmer bashing, he lives rent free in some folks heads. 031
Claire S (UK not USA) @csav55.eurosky.social · 13/10/2026I'm not sure Burnham's approach of telling Brexiters how wrong they were is a good idea, though tbf what's being reported isn't what he's actually saying. All he's saying is let's discuss all options which includes staying out. Let's hope the media reporting isn't giving false hope. 020
Claire S (UK not USA) @csav55.eurosky.social · 13/10/2026He wasn't quieter he just has a different style, this is what he said in December 2025 and it wasn't the first time he'd called it out. He took office after 14 years in opposition, he had plenty else to get on with but still spent time repairing our relationship with the EU27. 130
Claire S (UK not USA) @csav55.eurosky.social · 13/10/2026I try not to use rejoin because it sounds like we can go back to how it was. Too many people don't realise as a non member state we go back to the beginning, there's no alumni status, we won't get special treatment. It's a long, tough road, Burnham is raising unrealistic expectations. 120
Claire S (UK not USA) @csav55.eurosky.social · 13/10/2026You know this isn't what Andy Burnham actually said, this is what Kinnock hopes will happen. 100
Claire S (UK not USA) @csav55.eurosky.social · 13/10/2026Me neither, Starmer's softly, softly approach was working, I'm not aure it's a good idea to keep telling people they're wrong. He was allowing them to come the realisation themselves. I expected him to have something about joining the EU again in the next manifesto. 110
Claire S (UK not USA) @csav55.eurosky.social · 13/10/2026Yup and if they're not on side they can literally fool a party into ousting the PM. 191
Claire S (UK not USA) @csav55.eurosky.social · 13/10/2026I do worry that people aren't actually listening to what he's saying and are expecting us to join again by Christmas. He saying we should explore all options, which may be staying out. This is the problem with the hope stuff, it's the hope that kills you. 1100
Claire S (UK not USA) @csav55.eurosky.social · 13/10/2026It irritates me every time I see it, I don't want hope from politicians I want action and competence, if I want hope I'll start going to Mass again. 010
Claire S (UK not USA) @csav55.eurosky.social · 13/10/2026Good grief, where has she been since July 2024, the hostility against Starmer was relentless and unfortunately the PLP caved into it rather than fighting on his behalf. Let's hope they don't make the same mistake again. 171
Claire S (UK not USA) @csav55.eurosky.social · 13/10/2026Was it murder on the Orient Express, they did all do it. 🤭🤭 110
Claire S (UK not USA) @csav55.eurosky.social · 13/10/2026I wonder if he gets advance notice, he did have a meeting with them last week. You're right he's ramping up his bigotry, with luck he'll just resign and bugger off. 4110
