Laboratory Notebook pg. 7 What I see is a bright blue gemstone surrounded by a golden encasing. The stone emanates purple tendrils of energy - whipping about in all directions. … 1/2
A full-page pencil sketch in a notebook showing the complete drawing of the arcane artifact. The central geometric stone, with its intricate circle and star design, is revealed to be resting atop a sturdy, columnar pillar. The dark, sprawling, branch-like appendages are fully visible, aggressively reaching out across the entirely of the page to grasp at any vestige of power. The chaotic, organic energy of the branches starkly contrasts with the precise, rigid diamond frame drawn faintly behind the structure.A close-up pencil sketch of a mystical, arcane artifact. At the center is a geometric "stone" structured as a diamond, enclosing a circle and a sharply faceted eight-pointed star. Dark, organic, root-like tendrils erupt from behind the stone, reaching outward in all directions as if actively channeling power and grasping for energy in this world. Rigid, straight lines form a faint, larger diamond frame in the background, contrasting with the wild, sprawling tendrils.

This looks like a random doodle but it has some scientific significance. For efficient (see: stable) replicators to evolve, there must be some phase where protocells form (blobs) that then outcompete the less stable, “unshielded”, single molecular replicators.

The Observer: Chapter 5 Accretion 4.6 billion years ago…
And so was the Earth born, and it’s daughter, the Moon.

Luna, the Observer thought, was a good name.

A great grandchild perhaps of theirs. Someone to visit later when its surface had cooled once again.

And for a time, peace reigned in the system of Sol - the Solar System.

A family born in darkness,
bonded in fire,
cooled in the icy entropy of space.

And the Observer saw that it was good.

Screwworm case stats/map www.aphis.usda.gov/animals/anim...
An infographic dashboard from the USDA titled "New World Screwworm Confirmed Detections." The blue header states the data is as of June 17, 2026, with the last reported animal detection on June 12, 2026, and that data is updated daily by 6 PM (ET). Below, under the heading "Outbreak Situation Last 30 Days," it displays 12 Total Animal Cases. This is broken down into 12 Domestic Cases (9 Active, 3 Inactive) and 0 Wildlife & Feral Cases (0 Active, 0 Inactive). Below this, "Fly Trap Detections" shows a count of 0. A footnote at the bottom reads, "Note: Only wild flies are reported. A detection means at least one wild fly was found in trap."A map graphic titled "Map of Counties with Detections Last 30 Days." Dropdowns at the top indicate the time period is set to "Last 30 Days" and the selected type is "(All)." A legend below the dropdowns defines County Status: "Active" is orange, "Inactive" is light blue, and "Fly Trap Detection" is grey. The map shows the southwestern United States and Mexico. In New Mexico, one county in the southeast corner is highlighted in light blue (Inactive). In Texas, a dispersed cluster of counties in the central and southern regions are highlighted, with several in orange (Active) and one in light blue (Inactive).

Remember kids, don’t eat raw milk: “The milk from the previously infected cow was not processed for human consumption. However, the virus generally becomes inactive when the milk is pasteurized, and the milk from this farm is only used for pasteurized products.“ www.melkvee.nl/artikel/1447... 🧪🛟
Dutch to English translation:

Bird flu antibodies found in dairy cow
January 23, 2026

A dairy cow in Northeast Friesland must have been infected with bird flu. Antibodies to the virus were found in the animal's blood.

The Ministry of Agriculture, Nature and Food Quality (LVVN) reports that no evidence has been found that the avian influenza virus is circulating among the farm's dairy cows. There are also no signs of avian influenza at other dairy farms.

Cats
The NVWA received a report on December 24th about two sick cats. One of those cats tested positive for avian influenza and died on December 26th. The other cat tested negative and has fully recovered.

Because the infected cat came from a dairy farm, the NVWA also screened the dairy cattle on that farm; this happened on January 15th. The cows showed no symptoms at that time. Milk samples were taken from several cows, and the bulk milk was also sampled. These samples were sent to Wageningen Bioveterinary Research for analysis, but the virus was not found. This means that no virus was present in the dairy cattle on the farm at that time.

Antibodies
However, antibodies against the virus were found in one of the samples. This means that the cow from which the sample came had been infected with the virus at some point. The ministry reports that this cow had suffered from mastitis and respiratory problems in December. These are symptoms that can occur with infection with the avian influenza virus. By the time the sample was taken from the cow, she had recovered.

New sample collections
Following the positive antibody test result, the NVWA (Netherlands Food and Consumer Product Safety Authority) revisited the farm yesterday, January 22nd. They took blood and milk samples from all cattle present, and a new bulk milk sample was also taken.

Interesting trend over time (Google Trends). Blue = Martin Luther King Jr. Red = Civil Rights Looks like MLK very clearly peaks on his day each year, with a growing "lag" effect for civil rights, followed by a little continued bump for a few months from Feb-May, followed by a drop back to neutral.
5 years Google search terms trends, noting interesting correlation/lag effect between MLK day and the "Civil Rights" search term.
