Seen lots of cheetahs, some very close. Also went to a cheetah conservation place in Namibia where you can walk with them to the exercise yard. www.youtube.com/watch?v=KS7i...

I see the uk government has decided to fully fund the teachers papyrus having previously suggested using savings in the Local Government Pension Scheme. Perhaps those savings could be applied to help school support staff, you know, the lowest paid people in the LGPS

Surely if condensation occurred because surfaces were below the boiling point of water we would live in an environment where almost all surfaces were continually running with water?

It's even better than Bryson makes out. Despite being 'R' and 'N' it operates in the UK and in all of Ireland: it's an international organisation. It's lovely.

Trump has said Lake Ontario should be named Lake America because of its importance to the US as part of the great lakes waterway. However without the Welland Canal in Canada there would be no Great lakes water way would there?

If you’d like to buy a book on why it actually matters that these buildings are listed and why the restrictions are necessary and good, and why you can still put a heat pump and double glazing in a GII listed cottage even though it’s listed, Great because I’m writing it.

Born 1956. We had no computers at school. We had access to the main frame at AEA Winfrith (Site protected by armed guards) Not even sure they called it a main frame then, it ran on Fortran IV our programmes were run through Unix card machines.

The Thomas Speakman in the hall has a fault, so we had a swap round. Now the Thomas Baker of Blandford is next to the Belloni of Shaftesbury barometer. Around a century between them.

Longcase clock by Thomas Baker of Blandford circa 1700 and a stick barometer by Belloni of Blandford around 1830

Still exploring options for Faraday rotation demo.I have bought some 395nm LEDs, used heat shrink tubing on one to give a more defined beam & no stray UV. A webcam can now show a group of students the effect at the same time without them needing to peer at the UV. Best all round i think 🧪
