She's largely known for her science fiction and fantasy books. I really recommend her Lady Astronaut series (alternate history of space exploration) and her Regency fantasy Glamourist Histories. If you're an audiobook listener she narrates all those herself and also some other authors books.

This is one of the most disgusting and racist things I've ever seen. The right in Canada are selling dead Indigenous children t-shirts that promote genocide denial. Children's bones have been dug up at this point but it's never enough for them.

Here’s the pitch, more or less: shirts that tell Canadians to “dig deeper,” to demand “evidence” before believing First Nations, journalists, or anyone else who talks about unmarked graves — because, in their telling, those claims “shame” the nation and are being used to justify a national holiday. School funding is my go-to for political differences among friends. Should it be funded by each community or at the state level? I believe in higher level funding so that all kids receive similar education but I would be on a pub quiz team with someone who disagreed. No compromise on trans rights.

They never ask the question of the evidence of harms from withholding treatment. Despite the fact they found no evidence of harms from HRT. Wihtholding treatment from a population like this is not a neutral act, it is an intervention in and of itself. One that has no basis in medicine.
