My favourite part about going to WV (aside from the lush greenery and mountains) is the Tudor's Biscuit World pit stop on the way home 🤤

It's never too early for me to work on ornaments. I love making these skulls buddies all year round 💀🤘❤️‍🔥

A flat lay of in progress skull ornaments. The skulls are in two parts, with the bottom jaw being a separate piece. Most of these will be covered in a rainbow with underglaze

Good news! Top most layer underfired (probably barely hit cone 5) and bottom most layer got to cone 7 *but* everything looks okay. Thankfully, I don't have to refire the entire kiln load, just a handful of pieces 😅❤️

I accidentally left the lid cracked until my kiln was at 2100°F and the top layer of my kiln underfired. I might have to refire all the pieces that were in there 🥲😫 I now have to wait until my kiln cools down enough so I can check the rest of the pieces 🫣

I've been struggling to feel very social on social media, but I am still working on things in my studio 🥲❤️

A photo of one of my greenware shelves. The main focus is a curvy beige mug with vines of ivy carved into it. There are also other mugs behind it and a pile of skull magnets and ornaments in the bottom left corner.

(Not so) Fun Fact: I'm still finding glittery splatters around my studio. I didn't realize just how far it got 🥲

I was so caught up on updating my site that I forgot to update y'all here! There are still quite a few pieces available (like the candlestick holder, red splatter heart mug, and spoonrests). The bud vase already sold, but I love it too much not to include it here 🥹❤️

A view of the top-most layer of my recent kiln unloading. The shelf at the bottom of the photo holds spoon rests in shades of purples, blues, and beige. The shelf towards the top of the photo holds a couple mugs, 2 mushroom candlestick holders and a squiggly worm ring holder.

A beautiful taper candle holder in various shades of blues with golden crystals all over. It's surrounded by red roses and sits on a slice of wood.

A stack of two curvy mugs surrounded by red roses. Each mug has black hearts on a field of splattered red glaze. The handles have a thumbrest.

A black spiderweb bud vase with a sprig of bittersweet nightshade (there is a cluster of purple flowers along with the leaves).

Of all the glazes that I could have accidentally knocked over, it just had to be my open pint of Cosmic Tea Dust. (My floor now has a light coating of glitter even after wiping it multiple times with clean water) 😫

The best part is that the OH ornaments will have "Hell Is Real" on them.

A spread of 9 OH shaped ornaments with the "Hell Is Real" text from the sign on them. This is before they were glaze fired so the gray will turn black.

I always try my best to use as much of my clay slab as I can, so while I didn't have enough room for another OH ornament, I *did* have enough clay for a skull 💀

A wareboard of freshly made black clay ornaments. All of the ornaments are shaped like Ohio and the cental most ornament is a skull with a separate part for a jaw

Turning off comments. All I'm asking is that artists don't suffer a disproportionate amount compared to others employed at private corporations with benefits and health insurance and a 401K. Especially when our work can be an avenue of resistance.

I am just about ready for a 3rd full bisque kiln load. I'll need to glaze everything and that will fit into 2-3 more kiln loads. I have been putting in *work* 💪🔥

A view of my greenware shelf of pieces ready to go into the kiln for a bisque firing. The main focus is a cauldron planter with an attached flaming drip plate. There is a black spiderweb mug to the right, and in the background, there are tall stitched mugs.

Aside from making (so many) stitched mugs, I've been making cauldrons like this piece that's going to be turned into a hanging planter 🌿🧙‍♀️ (Other cauldrons will become soup bowls or cups but this one will have holes in the bottom so that would be pretty terrible for holding any liquids lol)

I have a feeling these are going to be *even more* popular this year 🙃

A spread of 9 Ohio shaped ornaments before they head into a glaze firing. Each ornament is a medium gray color in their bisque form and has "Hell Is Real" on them, with the H also appearing in red like the infamous sign you can see while driving in Ohio.

Crescent Rose Pottery 🌛🌹🌜 @crescentrosepotter.bsky.social · 27/03/2025

My goal for the next 30-ish days is to have at least 1 more full bisque kiln and at least 2-3 full glaze kilns. I got this 💪

Crescent Rose Pottery 🌛🌹🌜 @crescentrosepotter.bsky.social · 27/03/2025

I appreciate that! I guess I'll just have to wait and order them later 🙃 Thankfully my birthday is coming up and I'm *really* bad at letting people know what I want for gifts (not that I ever expect or want people to feel pressured to get me anything) but NCECA previews makes it a bit easier

Probably not, but it does have a nice ring to it! Getting good kitchen equipment and supplies would most likely be as big of an investment as getting my pottery studio set up was 😅

Crescent Rose Pottery 🌛🌹🌜 @crescentrosepotter.bsky.social · 22/03/2025

I *mostly* followed the recipe, and I think she looks pretty good for my first time in a long time making bread from scratch ❤️

The end of a freshly baked loaf of bread is cut off the reveal the dense but fluffy interior. Apparently I should've listened to the recipe about the right type of yeast instead of using what I had on hand already 🙃
