Why do people keep using #Debian for their base images instead of, you know, a distribution from people who know what they're doing? Am I supposed to go explain them what --user means or are they hopeless (since they clearly treat their users as idiots)?

I’m looking to discuss a scope around bare-metal lifecycle architecture for GPU infrastructure. Your Redfish inspection work is a useful example of the decisions involved: when to trust out-of-band data, when to boot an agent, and how to keep the controller’s state consistent through failure.

The opportunity I’d put forward is to carry that expertise into GPU platform qualification, provider integrations and recovery semantics. The aim is a repeatable software platform for operating hardware as OpenAI’s planned compute buildout grows.

I’d want to align the technical scope with what you’d like to own next. Would you be open to a conversation?

The consequential work belongs to engineers. Engineering has always been about more than writing code. Great engineers are problem solvers and builders who care about system design, distributed systems, reasoning through failures, safely integrating new capability into critical systems, and making decisions under ambiguity. These are exactly the skills the agentic era needs more of, especially as the volume of software increases. The supply of deep technical problems is multiplying, and the engineers who can solve them will be among the scarcest and most valuable talent in the market. Our core users’ roles are evolving, their importance is only increasing.

Software will be built by machines, directed by people. AI is the substrate on which future software gets built. Agents will plan, code, review, deploy, and repair. Humans still own the judgment that matters most: architecture, deep understanding of the customer problem, the tradeoffs that require taste. This is why we built and released the Duo Agent Platform in January. Our first quarter adoption is promising, and we're ready to accelerate.

I'm fed up and ended up actually reporting this. For the year of Linux on desktop, let's stop harassing our users with obscure notifications. #Fedora #abrt
Today I, once again, got this bizarre notification from abrt:

A kernel problem occurred, but your kernel has been tainted (flags:GW). Explanation

W - Kernel issued warning

Kernel maintainers are unable to diagnose tainted reports

For 99% of your users it's just a word salad. What are they supposed to do with this? The only option is to delete the report, so why not just delete it yourself? (Many of the users, myself included, are also
wondering why kernel maintainers decided that these bugs are not worth their attention, but I understand being overloaded and not wishing more obscure reports.)
