This is difficult cause the truly terrifying 1 was Terminator 2 (the bomb drop) but I found these to be up there as well: Poltergeist, Watership down, and Killer Klowns from Outerspace. The difference is as a child I understood reality pretty well, and knew a bomb drop was realistic vs some ghost.

Has anyone else noticed an uptick in propaganda that either blames women for something or tries to push some tradwife ideals entering other social media feeds? Obviously its not here on Bsky... I'm curious if it was something I did that changed what I was getting or if it was something everyone saw.

I'm getting rather tired of studios exploiting or abusing their creators. Crazy how two of the games that I have played for a literal decade have done this. Maybe the Dark Knight quote is true for studios as well; "you live long enough to see yourself become the villain" :/ youtu.be/UoApQT_LJoo?...

Not to pry on the recent (very sad) news, but as a reminder:

Buy indie games, buy self-published games. Stop buying from all those companies laying off/not caring about players

I finally watch Nosferatu. Man was is visually striking and unsettling. Like a mix of Bram Stoker's Dracula and the original Nosferatu, but without audience connection. I'm glad I saw it, but I dont think I'll watch it again.

Happy New Years! My new years resolution is pretty boring. Its to achieve stability in either health or money or both. Both would be awesome, but realistically ... Trying to "phoenix" myself during this time has proved to be quite difficult. I'm closer to a flopping smoldering chicken.

What is silly is that I dont like writing and I think I suck at it, but here I am, still doing it. I started writing my one on-going TTRPG adventure about Yokai back in 2018. For someone who identifies as not a writer, that's pretty crazy.

I did actually make a limited edition mug this year despite my new website not being quite done. Last year it was my prancing pony with a wreath, this year its an elk that got caught in holiday lights. I wonder what I should do for next year. Cardinals maybe?

This actually happened in gamedev with Supercell, they started w/ ~15 or so projects simultaneously, tested them all, found resounding success with Clash Royale, immediately canned the rest of the projects. They had the $$ to fund all the projects and testing; no indie can compete w/ that :(

Working on a holiday one shot for my buddies. I'm super excited about it because it's absurd, hilarious, and potentially unhinged. It's perfect ^-^ Here is one of the NPCs which is almost ready to be turned into a pog for roll20.

WIP art for an NPC pog for a D&D oneshot. It shows a muppet-like creature in Victorian era garb with a fake beard slapped on. The creature has short purple fur or felt and a long nose which could be a beak that fades to yellow. Behind that creature is the scanned in pencil sketch. Both are depicted oversized for easy viewing on screens.

In CA you can get your first driver's license for on average $200 CAD. In MD to get your first driver's license its about $600 dollars total. (this does not include costs for a car, insurance etc) Privatizing the mandatory schooling is costing new drivers $400+ MORE money. How is this okay?

000

ySayde @creativecoy.com · 12/11/2025

Who's freakin' idea was it to privatize driver's ed so the average person would have to pay more than $500 to get their kid a single driver's license?!?! WTF How are people supposed to afford this if they have to have a car to have a job in noncity areas, and their parents never paid for it?

I wonder if Guillermo del Toro redoing Thir13en Ghosts would be fantastic or meh. Like I feel as though he would really go into the ghost's backgrounds and elevate it... but it's already a great horror movie. So I'm torn on the thought.

Chat GPT5. Apparently it can answer election questions about other countries but not about the USA. This is ... a particularly worrisome guardrail. I found it by asking, "It's only citizens that can vote in the US, right?" after seeing a certain presidential tweet that made me feel gaslit.

A screen shot of a Chat GPT5 chat with the promp, "to be clear, its everything having to do with voting in the USA?" and the LLM replying with "Yes — anything about the facts or procedures for voting in U.S. government elections is inside that restriction.

That means things like:

Eligibility requirements

Registration steps and deadlines

How/where to vote

Rules for mail-in or early voting

State-specific election procedures

It doesn’t block me from talking about political topics in general, U.S. history, policy analysis, or elections in other countries — but the moment it’s procedural voter info for the U.S., the guardrail kicks in."

Kraken gets me. Too bad I cant drink any. Maybe someday I can again (health reasons related to allergy reaction with metal, long story).

A moody forest scene: someone holds a bottle of Kraken Black Spiced Rum, the label showing its iconic sea monster. The lighting is dim, casting the bottle in sharp relief against a gnarled tree branch. Text over the image reads: “Darkest wishes on your birthday. To celebrate another year of your allegiance.”
