I realised I have a very faint idea of how Frederick "canonically" looks at a larger size. I also realised I'm not great at fat bodies' back views at this point in my fatfur career. At that point, while he accepts simple touch, he can barely tolerate a thought of any harm coming to it, despite being fine with fairly extreme things elsewhere. It will take much longer to properly realise it as protection, power, and total reclaiming of his body for himself.

It's another loop of the spiral added to his relationship with his weight, as well. With becoming as "imperfect" as he does later in life, the stomach becomes the most prominent body part, turning into the most obvious target.

At some point it becomes impossible to find the way back from the Forest, and the wanderer is gradually pulled deeper and into the afterworld. They walk out from the woods to an open field – and if they try to return to the mortal world, the path will lead them back here anyway. [6/7]
