Dave is singing the lullaby as there's a flashback to when Dave discovered Tristan is destined to defeat Expunged, showing his laptop screen cracked, papers and string strewn about, and the first artifact cracked off and broken at the base of the body. In the second panel is an imagination of the fated confrontation between Golden Tristan and Proto Expunged. In the final panel, Dave is singing the last verse of the song to Tristan, both of them smiling a little.
