liana 🧸🪩 @craftreads.bsky.social · 31/01/2025i am once again humbled by the overwhelming feeling of not having enough time. not the “biological clock” sort of time but the “i have 5 books im itching to read, 3 audiobooks i need to listen to before they’re due, and i still want to listen to the aoty noms before sunday” kind of lack of time 100

I don't know how Republicans live with themselves. I really don't. And frankly, most of those Democrats, too, as they put up no resistance. 372286215
liana 🧸🪩 @craftreads.bsky.social · 30/01/2025i’ve been avoiding even looking into tome bc when i first heard of it it just looked like sjm/ry stans galore… is it still like that?? 110

Read history. Read fiction. Read science writing. Read anything that shows you the world is bigger than what fascists say it is. Read to remember why your resistance matters. 📚💙 4435161282
Reposted by liana 🧸🪩Lizzy Saxe @ardariel.bsky.social · 26/01/2025The Death of the Author shouldn’t be interpreted that way anyway. In the theory, separating the art from the artist is largely about the artist’s opinion of their own work and how that should have no bearing on your personal analysis thereof. 031
liana 🧸🪩 @craftreads.bsky.social · 26/01/2025it should be the norm! like an examples that come to mind was reading about ernest hemingway’s background before reading a farewell to arms and how his experience in wartime allows the story to be as impactful as it is 110
liana 🧸🪩 @craftreads.bsky.social · 26/01/2025I’m really looking forward to Elaine Castillo’s Moderation! Her last fiction book, America is Not the Heart, was my favorite read last year and I can’t believe how long it took for me to pick it up 110
liana 🧸🪩 @craftreads.bsky.social · 26/01/2025it’s crazy to me when people say “separate the art from the artist” when talking about (problematic) authors bc i seem to remember every english teacher making us read the author’s background/bio before their work to get a sense of their context and how it influences their work #booksky 2381
liana 🧸🪩 @craftreads.bsky.social · 26/01/2025it’s just so silly, the stuff from people i follow get buried and i’ve been getting so much sponsored posts from political organizations i’ve never even hinted at aligning with besides blocking the accounts 😭 000
