AI companies keep doing this winking self-parody and it is not cute. Remember the flipside of the tale, "black man is too incompetent to do his job without Apple Intelligence"? The ad has been memory-holed, probably not because embarrassing but because Apple were slow to launch their LLM stuff.
Screenshot from taken-down Apple Intelligence ad where Lance, a Black man, uses AI to summarise a report he hasn't read during a meeting.

The cowoking space made a little networking lounge nook for the routers 💝

There may be a completely normal explanation www.404media.co/did-a-time-t... The punchline xcancel.com/DavidPuente/... *Why* someone would do this still unclear.
Tweet from David Puente:

This technique is well known:

1) create an account
2) set the profile to private with hidden posts
3) write posts with names or events (e.g. the date of the Pope's death)
4) if the event happens, you delete everything else and leave only the matching one
5) make the profile public
6) the profile goes viral and gains followers

I'm part of Sydney Cohousing, a local community volunteer group that wants to promote more collaborative and less profit-driven approaches to housing. We're running an Intro to Cohousing in Camperdown this Sunday! sydneycohousing.au/event/introd... #HousingCrisis #Cohousing #SustainableHousing

To me the giveaways are the text (though it's much better than some I've seen) and this weird black leaf. But AI image generators are quite good at mimicing all sorts of styles. It's very impressive, but concerning.
Crop from original image showing a leaf overlapping a logo. The leaf which is yellow becomes black as it overlaps the logo, matching the text on the logo

I don't know who needs to hear this but The Boy Bands Have Won is back on music streaming services after having been unavailable for I don't know how long. Entertain your family this Christmas with classics like El Fusilado, I Wish That They'd Sack Me, and Lord Bateman's Motorbike!
The full title of the album is: "The boy bands have won, and all the copyists and the tribute bands and the TV talent show producers have won, if we allow our culture to be shaped by mimicry, whether from lack of ideas or from exaggerated respect. You should never try to freeze culture. What you can do is recycle that culture. Take your older brother's hand-me-down jacket and re-style it, re-fashion it to the point where it becomes your own. But don't just regurgitate creative history, or hold art and music and literature as fixed, untouchable and kept under glass. The people who try to 'guard' any particular form of music are, like the copyists and manufactured bands, doing it the worst disservice, because the only thing that you can do to music that will damage it is not change it, not make it your own. Because then it dies, then it's over, then it's done, and the boy bands have won."

Glad to see Bluesky choosing the "we will charge money" approach to monetisation. (Sorry to DHHpost but he does make the point.)
Screenshot of a Twitter conversation:

1. Someone posts about using a new email product called HEY
2. Rick replies: "How will they monetize this? Nothing is free."
3. Creator of HEY replies: "Money. We will charge money."

The reflection in the water does *not* look correct. Also can we get any experts on whether the headlights would keep functioning despite everything being very on fire?

It all looked more or less like it does in the manual guides.frame.work/Guide/Framew... Here's one of the extra magnet:
Close up short focal length of a Framework laptop from the side. Its keyboard is off exposing the motherboard. Close to the camera, blurry, is a label "made with 💚 by the Framework team" and a list of names. In focus is a tiny silver rectangular magnet raised above the circuitry.

A curvy, almost bulbous golden living spaceship criss-crossed with tiny white-glowing threads and lights, with long tentacle-like appendages swept backwards, surrounded by a blue glow and an ocean-like tunnel of spacetime.
