I'm a bit scared of that, too. As much as it would probably be a long-term benefit, there's billions of imaginary dollars that have been moved around to prop this up, so it'll probably create a tremendous financial depression if it all collapses.

It's more or less like all social media. There's huge swaths of toxic land, and yet, somewhere in little spots, you find value. Hate to admit a lot of technical problems I've had were from Google-to-Reddit results. Take the tiny bit of good over the overwhelming bad I guess.

Before I quit my last IT job, I was noticing even emails I had written in my own voice would get "AI-ified" by someone else in the pipeline before being sent out to the client. It's like, yeah, it still kinda has the same meaning, but you've taken my personal style out of it, it's just robotic now

I foolishly quit my last software dev job in June in part because of "strongly encouraged" AI use. Had a coworker on my team using it on the reg, it corrupted some years-old stable SQL code & screwed up comments I had written. I don't have a plan even now, but I just had to remove myself for a while

I've never been hugely into Pokemon, Gen 1 is a bit nostalgic for me from my childhood. But anyway, between two nerd characters, the line was "How is my favorite filthy Magikarp?" and, I mean, even not being hugely into it, everyone knows Magikarp, except the caption writer, I suppose

Catmaid!! As a Jiangshi thing! It's been a long while, I don't draw Catmaid too much anymore but I love her deeply; she was sort of a launch platform for me to prove I could design appealing characters. I lack a lot of things other artists have but I pride myself on character recognisability.
