“Simple rituals can be extremely effective (reduce grief, anxiety and increase confidence). Rituals appear to benefit even people who claim not to believe that rituals work. Rituals can have a causal impact on people’s thoughts, feelings, and behaviors.” (Gino & Norton, 2013).

Maybe this time of year is hard. Maybe it's the actual worst. Are you hesitant to go to events worried you won't feel cheery enough, or want to leave part way through. I get it. Give yourself permission to take breaks, arrive late/leave early, or decline an invitation. Take care of yourself.

Great example of "outside the box" grief support. Evolving #grief requires evolving care. Sometimes, acknowledging grief in our neighbors and communities might be easier done outside the walls of traditional closed groups. Maybe that's the selling point. #CapeBretonRegionalPolice

Have you encountered this book @memacdonald.bsky.social It depicts ritual. The author wrote "Goodnight Moon" & "The Runaway Bunny". I found a copy by chance at the local library, "Fill a bag for five dollars". I'm keeping it in public circulation in my lending library.

One of the best parts of youth groups is the after-class conversations with guardians. Kids are quick to tell you when the vibes are OFF. Kudos to all the guardians for allowing their youths to participate in a space that offers the freedom to inspire, humor, and humble us as caregivers.
