It's coming to the big screen of the OMSI Emperical Theater. Squee. tickets.omsi.edu/events/01a08223-de… #portland #gojira #godzilla
Godzilla rises out of the sea, his dark, rough-textured head and jagged dorsal spines bursting through a wall of spray as water streams down his face and shoulders. Heavy gray storm clouds fill the sky behind him.

I've found billboards (and huge campaign banners erected on commercial properties) to be immensely helpful during election season. If the billboard says "vote for a candidate", I probably won't. If the billboard says, "don't vote for", that's somebody I'll look at with interest.

My AWS account has sat fallow for years. Got an alert yesterday about anomalous usage. It may have been one of my old containers launched to run in a lambda. I dunno, it was a couple pennies. No matter, rather than debug the problem, I finally did what I should have done long ago: closed the […]

A photo of a dusk scene in which a giant plastic skeleton looms in the right foreground with glowing eyes and a menacing scowl. Teal and green light shines through its ribcage. Behind it stands a dark craftsman-style house with a covered front porch, decorated for Halloween. An orange and purple neon jack-o’-lantern glows in an upstairs window, large black spiders crawl across the siding, a neon purple bat shines in a porch window, and a wreath of red lights and snakes hangs on the front door. Warm string lights glow along the porch ceiling, and a dog stands near the doorway beside pumpkins. The sky overhead is deep blue, and evergreen trees fill the background on the right.

At my neighborhood CVS the Red Vines are on an open shelf but the Twizzlers are locked away behind glass. And that makes total sense, because as everybody knows Red Vines are trash and nobody would want to steal them.
Two stacks of blue Red Vines Original Red Twists packages sit loose on a sparsely filled white store shelf, with several inches of bare space around them. A yellow sale tag at the shelf edge advertises a buy-one-get-one offer, and bags of caramels sit on the shelf below.
