COMIC: Centimeters
PANEL 1: GRAMP, an older bald man with a grey mustache, holds a measuring tape against a piece of plywood. ARTHUR, a yellow duck, watches.
GRAMP: We need to cut four feet seven sixteenths by three feet five eighths.
ARTHUR: Your tape measure ha CENTIMETERS on it…why don’t we just use that?

PANEL 2: GRAMP, with safety glasses and wielding a table saw, looks out, realizing.
GRAMP: Oh my gosh. This is so much easier.

PANEL 3: GRAMP measuring another piece of wood, stares with wide eyes.
GRAMP: This is so much easier.

PANEL 4: GRAMP lies in bed in the evening, moonlight reflecting on the wall. ARTHUR stands next to the bed, looking at him.
GRAMP: That was so much easier.
ARTHUR: You have tasted from a cup. which you will never drink.

Anatomy of a Cockatrice — This is it! The final hours to snag your gorgeous ANATOMY OF MONSTERS book. Jump in and join the awesomeness! —> www.kickstarter.com/projects/sma...
TITLE: Anatomy of Monsters: Anatomy of a Cockatrice

DESCRIPTION: A creature that is half-dragon, half-chicken stands on a rocky ground. His head is a rooster with red crest and dangly-bits, with his beak wide open, white feathers on it’s neck. His small chicken-arms stretch out into dragon wings. His belly is armored like a dragon, with a dragon tail, but his legs are chicken legs.

JOKES:
- Nothing strikes fear into hearts like a FULL-ON DRAGON with the head of a chicken.
- A mythical 12th-century beast, the cockatrice was created whenever “A toad hatched a chicken egg.” AND THAT’S JUST SCIENCE, GANG!
- (points to previous joke) Medieval scientists really thought eldritch horrors would result if a toad didn’t stick to its lane.
- Not the dude to invite over if you like your hardwood floors.
- The only creature that can make “bok bok bok” sound threatening.
- Spends the majority of his day wondering if he’s a bird with a lizard problem or a lizard with a bird problem.
- Much like the buttons at a cross-walk, his wings don’t actually DO anything.
- It’s funny when you realize that 100% of monster folklore is the result of bored farmers staring at livestock all day.

Just opened Double Dog Dare, Dave's last kickstarter - I was wondering where to put the signature plate, and was delighted by how he'd subtly indicated a spot for it: this cloud just looks like a happy cloud, unless you're looking for a place to put a circular sticker and then it's a roadmap
A cartoon of a pugh leaping across a sidewalk; in the sky, a large cloud slightly tinted blue contains an empty white circle.

Imagine the conversations we would have on social security if articles like this listened to the SSA Actuary and said “An increase in wage inequality in the 1980s, followed by mismanagement of the Great Recession, had meant that the program’s payment costs exceed its incoming tax revenue.”

I do find it very amusing that IndyCar tried really hard to chase F1 into the cultural zeitgeist by trying to do its own docuseries and framing itself as a cooler version of F1 only for it to become part of the cultural zeitgeist because of one specifically dumb race idea

Bluesky pals! I have a sci-fi graphic novel called DRIVE, & it's my favorite thing I've ever done! If you need a long, escapist read at the moment the entire thing is free to read, here: drivecomic.com (THIS PAGE: FLAWLESS)
PANEL 1: One large panel shows a Fillipod Hanger with rows of ships in varying states of completion. The light streams in from the side while organic-shaped pillars arch over the ships, that converge in lights above a walkway that reads “HANGAR FUN-ZONE 9,000 ‘we put the fun in fun-zone’”. On the back wall there is a counter at 0 that reads “Days without a spontaneous flash mob.” Next to it is an add with a Fillipod that reads “Building a better tomorrow… tomorrow!” Two tiny Fillipods, the FIRST MINISTER and FLAT CAP walk the floor, in silhouette.
FIRST MINISTER: The fleet looks GOOD!
FLAT CAP: …I’m already picture the off-world vacays!

PANEL 2: FLAT CAP reads from a glass tablet, as FIRST MINISTER responds.
FLAT CAP: So! Going down the checklist: We installed the requested drink holders on every chair.
FIRST MINISTER: Love it.

PANEL 3: The two continue.
FLAT CAP: And added a velvet-lined reading nook.
FIRST MINISTER: Perfect

PANEL 4: The two in silhouette.
FLAT CAP: A trivia screen in all the elevators.
FIRST MINISTER: Obsessed.

PANEL 5: From over the FIRST MINISTERs shoulder, FLAT CAP excitedly continues.
FLAT CAP: A bubble machine that goes off every time we break orbit.
FIRST MINISTER: Excquisite.

PANEL 6: From above the two talking, we see a ship in the background.
FLAT CAP: A hangout room with a trampoline floor.
FIRST MINISTER: Flawless.

PANEL 7: Intense close up on flat cap.
FLAT CAP: Glow-in-the-dark ceiling stars in all the bedrooms.
FIRST MINISTER (off panel): Iconic.

PANEL 8: Close up on both talking.
FLAT CAP: A snickerdoodle station.
FIRST MINISTER: Giddy.

PANEL 9: FLAT CAP standing alone, looking at his glass panel.
FLAT CAP: A poetry bar that exclusively serves highballs.
FIRST MINISTER (off panel): Screaming.

PANEL 10: FLAT CAP standing alone, with his top two arms holds the glass tablet while gesturing with another leg.
FLAT CAP: A joke-of-the-day whiteboard on the bridge.
FIRST MINISTER (off-panel): Ascending.

PANEL 11: The two continue
