I do think EA will hold onto BioWare and Mass Effect until ME5 is launched but I could potentially see them selling some BioWare IP (Dragon Age, Jade Empire) before then. Kind of sucks though, as I'm not sure I want to play an EA ME5.

If I was BioWare, I'd try and merge with Motive and go Independent. Motive has some former BioWare devs and are likely similarly aligned in the types of games they want to make and it'd give them a stronger footing to survive and have some capital behind them.

I would if I had the funds and lots of others would as well. Hopefully they can find a buyer that also isn't complete arse (Embracer, Paradox) and I'd recommend they go indie and not be under the yoke of a Publisher. Although Owlcat are a Publisher who can publish them.

Although I think Dragon Age: The Veilguard probably could have had another 6 to 12 months more of development (giving us more Rivain/Lords of Fortune and dwarf/Titan content), it also released at the right time in retrospect of the EA buyout.

This won't end well at all. They have a $20billion (yes, billion) debt to pay off and this will mean aggressive microtransactions, layoffs, abusive use of GenAI and studio closures and on top of that, crunch, rushing out of games and potential LGBTQIA+-washing.

How have I only just found out the Dwarves in Dragon Age call themselves Dwarva? It turns out this is from an obscure reference from the now defunct BioWare DA website (excerpts by Brother Genitivi) and afaik, were never seen in a Codex entry in game. web.archive.org/web/20091002...

I find it amusing that because Oghren and Felsi's child hasn't got a canonical gender (they're named after the Warden), Oghren refers to them with "they/them" pronouns in Awakening and it makes Oghren an accidental ally.

The dog collar on the Battledress of the Provocateur (and other light armours that use the same model) always amuses me. I think it's due to the way the head/neck is separate to the body and it creates a weird empty space that needs covering up with a collar/choker.
