Kinda messed up that the worst part (pain wise) of getting my wisdom teeth out is the cramps I'm getting bc the steroids I had to take for swelling cancelled out the effect my birth control had at preventing my period.

Its truly an awful feeling when you're going about your day and then suddenly realize you're a lot more aware of your throat than usual, and just know you're going to be sick in like a day

Another rare moment of inspiration to draw: have some dnd character art. Dee here is a Firbolg Barbarian (path of beast)

Grey blue firbolg with red hair standing with arms crossed, wearing a cropped fur vest and belted pants in middle of image. Black and white rendition of the same firbolg's head snarling - similar to a big cat

@julialepetit.bsky.social I think Duck Detective would be great for Sunday's stream. There are 2 (each took me roughly an hour to finsih). They're cute little mystery games with similar deduction style to golden idol - fill in stuff with word banks. They're also both on sale!

Personal opnion / hot take: News sites shouldn't have a pay wall. People complain about the public (especially youth) being uninformed/uninterested in politics or global events. I'm NOT UNINTERESTED. I just don't have the extra income to subscribe to every news site (or even the 'worthwhile' ones)

A deep sea mermaid WIP. I want to practice some lighting and rendering, so sketched out what I was thinking before getting in there. Really liked the sketch at this stage and wanted to preserve it before completing the more finished piece.

A deep sea Mermaid, with angler fish inspired features, hovers in water, holding a small human looking Skull in front of her face, alight by her latern atenae. Her form is roughly painted shapes indicating features against a dark background.

My drow rogue in a Curse of Strahd campaign got a "Magic Mushroom dress" tonight (stats of Leather Armor +2). It very much didn't fit her vibe, but it was too good for her to discard. This got me inspired to draw her broody and in combat with the dress over some under armor.

An original Dungeons and Dragons character. Specifically, a drow woman Rogue with a mushroom dress shown in two poses. One standing with her arms crossed and the other with her crouched, swinging a bloodied short sword.

Unfortunately, @umactually.bsky.social has the perfect intro. Every time they say "the one thing they [nerds] love above all else is correcting people" I want to say "that's not my favorite part" ... and then... I have just proven them right 😔

With the LA fires finally contained, it has me curious about some aftermath. I saw multiple people online sharing that their insurers were awful and canceled their insurance (usually renters) because the wildfires would "cost them too much." Did any legal action come out of that? Truly unacceptable

More art!! I'm rewatching Dimenson 20's "A Crown of Candy" and got inspired to draw our fave drawtectives and their son as various food folk from Calorum. Also inspired by Jacob's joke about Rosé's real name being Frośe Nyogurht.

The Drawtectives trio and Eugene Finch depicted as food things, reminiscent of Dimension 20's A Crown of Candy. York is depicted as pork, Eugene as an aubergine (eggplant), Grandma as a Granny Smith Apple, and Rosé as a neapolitan frozen yogurt person, holding Gobago.

Possibly dumb question. Is the full first season of Dandadan out? 12 episodes is definitely one of the usual numbers for anime seasons, but it kinda ended earlier than I thought it would. I've only watched the anime at this point, but will likely check out the manga soon

Got inspired to draw something The Beast adjacent from Over the Garden Wall after rewatching the series with family this weekend.

A slumped shadowy silhouette with deer antlers and glowinf white eyes, on a red/orange background in a forest.

The @theguardian.com has an amazing article on the brain microbiome, exploring how infections might contribute to dementia & even make some forms reversible. I also learned that gum health could potentially be an ally in the fight against dementia. 🤯 www.theguardian.com/lifeandstyle... #SciComm 🧪

The brain microbiome: could understanding it help prevent dementia?

Long thought to be sterile, our brains are now believed to harbour all sorts of micro-organisms, from bacteria to fungi. How big a part do they play in Alzheimer’s and similar diseases?

Be honest, what are we calling posts here. I've heard skeets but idk if I love it. Are we just gonna embrace 'posts'? I'm partial to bloops

I kinda hate how quick your brain makes patterns of thinking. One day, I woke up and joked (internally, to myself) "I'm awake, but at what cost." And now, every day I wake up, that's the first thing I think

Posting some 'old' art to try to get some stuff on here. This is about 6 months old but since Drawtectives season 3 is soon, definitely relevant. Enjoy my attempts at male anatomy with a drawing of York in his modelling career!!

An interpretation of York (from Drawfee show Drawtectives) sitting on a stool- as if for a model shoot.
