A friend was working at the Toronto broadcast station & snuck out a screener a few days before the premiere. Our biggest takeaway was that the show - with the optimism of the opening credits & song - was exactly what we needed to counter the bloodlust that was brewing. Then they threw it all away.

This Canadian is more concerned about his country binding itself even more to a country that has decided to self-immolate. And to sign a “deal” that’s only binding on Canada, since the United States has made clear that they’ll abandon treaties, trade deals, and international agreements on a whim.

Bait-and-switch aside, I legit think it’s a tactical error. Ford, Bradford, and their supporters don’t care about cyclists, or actively wish them harm. But they do care about themselves. These improvements are demonstrably safer for everyone, and I think that should be a core message.

Important, but the impulse to tighten up physically can go too far. I remember when Russel Martin got lean. He ran out of gas in August, and the soft tissue stress injuries started… Vladdy’s been bigger, and I see his issues as around form and swing decisions. BA is solid. He’s just not slugging.
