We also did a 4X4 tour of Canyonlands Backcountry because I was not confident of driving any vehicle on Shafer and in hindsight, it was a splendid decision because I kept looking out of the window at scenery that looked straight out of road runner cartoons , without being super scared

I don’t know what this feature is called , but because it looks like Nefertiti I remember from illustrations , that’s what I’m calling it

Probably one of my best pictures . I just happened to notice when this magic was happening

How I wish . This was in page AZ . There is a shell gas station out there and you can walk out to this cave like structure from there and views are phenomenal . I do plan to do a Bryce trip next month though

I’m back from Utah , Zion National Park to be very specific and the weekend away has done wonders for my mental health . Love the national parks we have and all that they do for a lot of people like me.

Now , I did know I was in bear country but I did not expect to see a bunch of bears on a heavily trafficked hiking trail and didn’t expect them to be this chill / menacing at the same time . This photo was taken by the husband as yours truly was genuinely freaked out by bears on the trail

To get parking by Cannon Beach is a stroke of luck and is also about being there at the right time . We got lucky enough to be there at the right time and having the beach to ourselves for a thirty minute walk. It was windy , cold and moody af and I enjoyed every minute of it .

The drive from Rockaway Beach to Cannon Beach climbs through the cliffs and as you climb up , you lose sight of the ocean for a bit only for view points to show up on the other side of the road with tons of parked cars . You pull over and see miles and miles below and sigh in wonder

The drive from Garibaldi to Rockaway beach will see you driving close to the water and railway track and some amazing vistas . You park at Rockaway beach and start walking on the sand to see a majestic sea dragon rising out of the sea , looking out at a million people walking by :)

As we drove from Tilamook on the 101 , the ocean played peekaboo with us consistently until the vistas opened up at Arch Cape , where we could get in a gorgeous , picture perfect view of Lion Rock . The petrichor and the air thick with the smell of rain was an added bonus.

We crossed over into Washington from Oregon this evening , crossing the longest continuous truss bridge in North America . The drive across the bridge was amazing and I didn’t get a chance to snap a picture even as I feasted my eyes on the ride down and the road by the river
