I am a scaredy cat of a person . I don’t like hikes , I don’t like heights and I don’t like sketchy trails or the water but despite all that the national parks have this magnificent presence that makes you appreciate them despite all that fear and low risk tolerance

We also did a 4X4 tour of Canyonlands Backcountry because I was not confident of driving any vehicle on Shafer and in hindsight, it was a splendid decision because I kept looking out of the window at scenery that looked straight out of road runner cartoons , without being super scared

I don’t know what this feature is called , but because it looks like Nefertiti I remember from illustrations , that’s what I’m calling it

In a red rock fin , a rock shaped like the Egyptian Queen Nefetiti , is looking at another rock shaped like someone paying their respect to her . This is Park Avenue , Arches NP .

Another one from Arches , where Turret Arch looks like the state of Wisconsin , with the horizon looking like a lake .

Probably one of my best pictures . I just happened to notice when this magic was happening

And I loved how Hyun Bin played Ki Tae , like it’s very easy to play this character in a way that makes you make a judgement call very easy but he played Ki Tae in a way that makes you root for him and then hate yourself doing it because he’s not a nice man .

The first name , last name conventions in the Asian games scorecard is very very inconsistent and irks me. Smriti Mandhana is SS Mandhana but Shafali Verma is Shafali . Wish they’d stick to a single convention

AI/ML was already heavily being used across everyday things anyway so I don’t understand this wave of pushback. Im the first person to agree that things are progressing way too fast and we need to be cautious about unchecked progress and have better guardrails

Our AC compressor fan got ripped up . Our service tech gave a $662 estimate and a replacement window of next week . Given that it’s super hot and I get heat migraines are my kryptonite and $662 is expensive , I have a new tech coming out tomorrow who thinks it’ll cost half or a third of that 662
