Isn't it funny how all the things required to keep the net in a functional state also just so happen to be bad for kids? Torrents, online spaces, the internet archive. All bad for kids! What are the odds right?

Anyone think it's weird that Japan still censors minors smoking this way? At least in the U.S. when they had someone underage smoke, it was with the intent of showing WHY that's a bad idea. In Japan it's like "There's something going on in this guy's mouth...we can't SAY what it is!"

Today is the birthday of artist Ramona Fradon (Oct. 2, 1926-Feb. 24, 2024). Most known for cocreating Metamorpho and her work on Aquaman, Superfriends, Plastic Man, and the comic strip Brenda Starr, Reporter.

Fradon holding my copy of a Metamorpho collection she had just signed for me at a convention.

A commission she did of Aquaman's wedding and three comic books she did the covers and/or the interior art for: The Brave and the Bold #66, featuring Metamorpho and the Metal Men, Superfriends #28, and Plastic Man #19.

This aired just the once in 1998 on the live SNL show for which McKay wrote it. It was effectively banned as it never aired again. I wonder why. MEDIA-OPOLY

KAEPERNICK: The part that I hope people take away in this moment is what Robert Kraft and what they’re saying by denying Macklemore is they are openly colluding. They also want people to know that if you take an action that they don’t agree with, they will come for you.

When people say "Old Anime Feels Real" this is what they're talking about. The light? That's the real world shining through the back of the cel. The colors? Real acrylic paint that physically existed somewhere. Each frame was a photograph, & on some level you trust it implicitly.

Today is the birthday of actor & director Jackie Cooper (Sept. 15, 1922-May 3, 2011). In addition to playing Perry White in the Superman films, he had another link to comics. He was the youngest person nominated for an Academy Award for the 1931 film based on the newspaper comic strip Skippy.

This is a big discussion that's been happening for awhile among the Sonic fans. The Action show definitely has benefits and greater scope though, and I might be biased, I think the Looney Tunes style might be more interesting overall. You almost never know what might pop up.
