That place was awesome. (Too bad we didn't have time for tea...)

It's out west end of the city in the sticks but thankfully just off the highway. They don'tdo reservations and the line starts to go around the block right at 5. It is entirely WORTH IT though.

Service - incredible. Now I know why this place is busy as heck. We will be back. (Or at least try.)

They have a wood-fired brick pizza oven going...how could I not indulge. (It is called the Ferrari)

Dolly and Kenny Rogers had a duet (imagine that) called “You Can’t Make Old Friends.” A verse is as follows: When saint peter opens the gate And you come walking in I will be there just waiting for you 'Cause you can't make old friends You can't make old friends Kenny better have been waiting.

Former, retired. Grain of salt there. Also, sometimes being on one radar can put you on the radar of others. Also, when perks can be given they absolutely are. ...Like a PA wuff for the weekend, meeting the teams, working together to put on a great show, and so on. :3

There is no harm in negotiating a contract and folks may have limits either side. It's cool so long as folks are cool with the process and understanding the walk-away chance is high due to not having much resources there because said...community event over commerical. Sorry for the wall of text.

Most events have their own decision process, but will often poll staff/volunteers/attendance for folks while also having internal prospectors searching for names to highlight in the community. Due to shoestring resources, sometimes it's only spotlight, but sometimes all someone needs is a stage. >>

...a value given at the time of. This is because most furry events are low-fee-for-entry as they are more a community event as mentioned above over for-profit cons and money spent on the GoH contract - for instance, would end up in the ticket price or continuity of event. That said... >>

Furry cons are by volunteers for volunteers. The GoH spotlight is more give-and-take than most are prepared to give because it is more like highlighting a community member and the work they do together with that contract can say, provide a springboard to prosperity in the future rather than... >>

Leonard likes to watch me game while he helps protect my desk, and maaaybe judges me just a little. (He is a cat after all) Art doll (including the little blue snek) by the lovely @homemadehorrors.bsky.social

A seal point yule cat art doll sits leaning on a computer speaker. The computer monitor shows Dragon Age Veilguard being played. Various other creatures in frame include a blue cat-faced snake art doll curled around a small wolf plush, a blue fox plush and an owl sitting on a nearby bookcase.

"Just buy the subscription..." You realize you are giving money to the org that created the problem and sells you the solution right? We're in a new digital arms dealer nightmare now. (God I wish this bubble would burst, the spillover in slop vids from fash-x-twitter is insufferable.)

While I'm on this "tired of the bullpuckey" moment: I love how most youtube ads are AI slop now despite saying thry were "eliminating them." One moment you aren't paying attention and it's a 5-minute slop ad for a gatcha game with the intro being how the player is weak and should kys.
