Hey, ProPublica reporter Jake Pearson here. I’m taking over the account to tell you about my new story. For months, I posed as a problem gambler on DraftKings to test the company's "responsible gaming" safeguards. Spoiler alert: They made me a VIP — and I lost $10K. Here's how it all went down. 🧵

The framing of this story is going to do serious damage to the National Park Service. No one in the NPS wants this ridiculous arch. The agency has been forced to comply with the president's wishes because the Interior Secretary is a Trump loyalist. #NationalParks www.usatoday.com/story/news/n...

The report recognizes adverse effects on dozens of other Washington monuments and other historic sites but supports construction of the arch anyway.

We fought and lost a war in Iran so that both the Iranians and the Russians could make far more money from oil—the Iranians from tolls, the Russians from higher prices and the end of sanctions. That isn’t just strategic defeat; it’s self-destructive foolishness at a level unknown to military history
