2009 me would never believe present day me about anything, and I’d like to think they’d be dumbfounded and maybe a little proud.

Found some time today after repairing things around the house to play test the makeup for Gerard Keay. Beginning my third re-listen to the Magnus Archive

Selfie of a person with goth makeup, including: black lipstick, stylized eyebrows, and wing eyeliner. Fist is resting over chest with eyes painted over joints, as well as a large eye their Adam’s apple and heart.

Please know that this and the art of the Beholding Avatars is what convinced me to make my next DnD character be Gerry.

#TMA Gerard Keay, you may be the one that makes me relisten to the whole pod all over again. He’s the inspiration behind a new DnD character and I think I might go a little crazy for session one and cosplay him.

And don’t get me wrong lean on those around you, ask for help, or a few minutes of their time, but also give the same things to yourself. Only one person will be there with you through everything in your life and that is you. Be there for yourself.

One of the hardest things you can do is face that ache and pain of loneliness and abandonment, sit with it, and be there for yourself. You just want to be heard so listen to yourself like you would a friend in need.

I honestly believe our most powerful position in a toxic time that feeds on cynicism, apathy,& despair is to genuinely care and act for a better world. Cynicism is our enemy. We should check it, incl. on the left. It’s not intellectually superior. It’s the virus they’re trying to infect us with. NO

i struggle with a brain that wants to stiffly copy whatever reference i'm using and one thing i've found helpful:
1. draw big blocky shapes over the reference
2. turn off ref and redraw big blocky shapes
3. draw in figure with big blocky shapes overlaid
Traducir post

photo of model posing as an elegant elf woman that ive blocked out with a chunky red brush

in a separate window ive redrawn the red blocks, then have drawn details over the red blocks, using the photo+red transparency as reference

final doodle of the figure drawing without the red blocking

Trump has deployed active military to help round up migrants and put them into detention camps. The military forced us out of our homes at gunpoint in 1942 because we were considered possibly disloyal Americans. They sent us to internment camps for four years. History is repeating. Pay attention.

SHARE WIDELY. KNOW YOUR RIGHTS. With mass deportations starting today across the country, it is vitally important - for both citizens and non-citizens - to know your rights. You have the right to remain silent. Assert it. You have the right to a lawyer. Ask for one. (1/3)

Starting Rhythm of War and I’m so excited but nervous. I only got through the acknowledgments so far. When I have money to throw around, I’m going to get hard copies (or maybe the leather bound editions 👀) for the Stormlight Archive.

I’m struggling because one group of friends has only just started reading the Stormlight Archive, and another group has read up to Book 5 already and I’m sitting here, about to jump into Book 4 and trying to remember what I can’t tell the first group to avoid spoilers 🥲
