I really wanna make a cute setup like this, with the grassmat and the trees and little houses and shit :3 Like the ads they'd make for the trains

I love how import/tariff fees turn a $25 train into a $50 train

The Gadwall Estate crew have managed to get their own "garden railway" going, not that it's powered at present... What it actually is, is our new TT9 (TT120 3ft gauge) stock all printed and ready! I just wanted an excuse to also show off the large scale figures as well 🤫

Resin 3D printed kits of all sizes. At the back is garden railway scale animal figures from our tabletop Willowmere County range. At front is a new TT9 / TTm kit of a Fletcher Jennings engine with coaches.

I really gotta decide what I'm gonna do about the space this thing is gonna exist in Already decided a few things for the basement - Dehumidifier in the corner by our sump pump, to reduce humidity - Foam pads under the layout/surrounding area to make it nice to walk around

Anyway I now have Thomas running off of my old Bachmann controller (which is one of the shitty cheap new ones, and that's why I wanted to replace it) lol Here he is - along with the bunnies lol

Agh I took the controller back to the store Guy hooked it up to a pair of wires with a light and showed me that it does run power through the terminals Even let me take a new pair of wires for the track for free But it still won't work at home

Stopped at my local hobby shop, picked up a railpower 1300 (new in box) and some Atlas HO scale track for my Thomas model The railpower didn't work, so I called the shop, they had me come in and exchange it for the other one they had (also new in box) It didn't work either ;w;

A good example of what I think I kinda wanna do (5x10 layout)

060 6

Conducting Trains, Big & Wide @conductorchocobo.bsky.social · 20/08/2026

Honestly if I go with O scale I'm probably just gonna use Fastrack because I like the look of it more than tubular Plus with wider curves I can run more stuff (not that I'd plan on getting any excessively big engines) Idk I've got time to think about it because the set I want isn't out yet anyway

Came up with an interesting O-27 layout idea that'd fit in the space I have downstairs Small yard loop with a raised dogbone passing over it Room for both accessories *and* a nice long running line :3

Yeah :3 I actually just made a little mock-up of an idea I had for a 4x8 using O-27 Tempted to do a 4x10 to have a bit more room for scenery, and maybe an upper loop, tho

#modelrailway #modelrailways #modelrailroad #OOscale #modeltrains #modeltrain My layout has a couple of problems, such as the curves not laying very flat and only being able to run one train at once. So I'm relaying it all. Here's my childhood Hornby Thomas pulling the last train before the rebuild.

Fuck, deciding on a scale to model is hard As fun as O would be, I think I've finally narrowed it down to N scale and HO scale They both have their pros and cons tbh so I'm not sure which to go with I don't have the space/money to model both, that's for sure

I guess I could always do T-trak modules in N scale for a layout, if I wanted I'd just need to get a folding table And then figure out where the controller will go since the table is only wide enough for the modules >w<

4x10 HO scale idea As fun as O would be in some ways, HO is probably the smart option to go with if I truly intend to make space for a larger table
