I mean, the "do we prefer the rule of law, or the rule of the mob?" isn't the flex he thinks it is, when Palantir are already up to their necks in (war) crimes, and he's promising that they'll do more on behalf of a Reform government. He'd probably sell us the pitchforks if he could.

The thing is, I've done plenty of things that I now regret, and have determined not to add to that list. Then there's Watson, seemingly later in life, not giving a shit about being as banally evil as he can.

Most important bit of the BBC streaming reporting on the Fonagty report into mental health. #FuckWesStreeting
A photo of a section of the BBCs streaming reporting on the Fonagty report on mental health. It shows Professor Fonagy talking to the BBC with the headline "Wes Streeting 'completely wrong' about over-diagnosis, says review author"

The text below the photo says:
The author of today's report, Prof Peter Fonagy, has been speaking to Radio 4's Today programme.
He starts by saying that former Health Secretary Wes Streeting - who first commissioned the review - was "with respect, completely wrong" when he talked about an over-diagnosis of mental health disorders.

I should have prefaced that with "I have been reliably informed 😉..." But it's the same premise as a mobile phone bomb - the voltage in the device isn't high enough in itself to fire a detonator, but it can be used as a base voltage on a transistor which acts as a switch for the higher voltage.

If you don't know how to cook, cooking is expensive. If you do, it's cheap. I hope someone else's parents take her under their wings and teach her, because her own have failed utterly.

The reason it's used in so many bombs/IEDs is that you can be in the smallest market anywhere in the world, and pick one up still in its blister pack - and critically, its alarm function allows it to be used as a timer: the beeps will trigger a transistor which will set off a detonator.

Was taking part in a medieval reenactment combat, and a child spectator was convinced that one of our shorter reenactors was a, a child and b, that we had actually killed them. He was distraught, and took considerable convincing that our child-actor was definitely still alive.

I am absolutely certain that those things listed generate far more benefit than the £1bn spent on them in terms of reduced crime, fewer hospital and GP visits, fewer days off work due to stress, increased mental health and better community cohesion.

I have a very fine 12th century wool tunic in madder red, and a lovely half-circle cloak in woad blue, with a white wool lining. I have worn the tunic for precisely *two* shows this year, one in April, and one last week. The cloak just for the first one. Otherwise, I'm just in an undertunic.

1. #MedievalSky, grab a lifejacket and a seasickness bag, we’re casting off on a thread about the Norman invasion fleet in 1066! 960 years ago, the Normans landed at Pevensey and established a base at the Roman shore fort which was already succumbing to erosion from the sea on its south side. 1/20

My homebrew D6 has a "Brace with shield" that gives a 2D defence bonus, on top of the shield bonus (Large shield 1D+1). "Brace with spear and shield" on being charged gives the defender the same attack bonus as the attacker gets from charging.

tbf, the iterative search pattern worked fairly well this time. Having looked in the places where the keys should have been, where would a distracted idiot have put them? Took ten minutes, which isn't long, but plenty long enough to start working out the cost of a locksmith.
