Whilst I clean up existing code, write up my notes and delay looking at the next bit because I think it's tricky undecided to try and change a few things like the background. Found a few things I liked but remembered a few random patterns I'd knocked up before. I quite like them.

the #gamedev post i didn't make last night. Still trying to post shit that I do...in order to try and keep me doing it! Here's a quick vid. It's rough, there are image issues, there is some layering problems....and I've still not learnt to draw a player sprite. Today is a doodle day I think.

Map generated. Some layering issues. It has collision and pick ups. Scales up with map size to fills the gaps and build a shitty city like thing. Brain hurts and another late one. #gamedev fun and painful in equal measures so far

Another less than good #gamedev post but have to share to make myself do this. Working on the generation. Looking at building density and scaling this as the map size increases. Current values seem to create something not too unworkable. Though at this size it is likely to miss out some room types.

Still in treacle...but have the map randomly selecting the room type to place (there are only two options rn!). Now...how to figure out how to get a map that looks halfway workable. So, progress so far at somewhere around 0.001%ish I reckon. Just a million years to go #gamedev #godot

Have managed to switch out the pattern, will fill up to the maximum required rooms and finishes generation if no more rooms can be added. Lot of refactoring to do tomorrow I think.

My first attempts at map/level generation with #Godot and GDScript and some pretty sketchy looking images drawn by me. Dipping my toes into #gamedev. I'm bad at this...and I know it's not a quick process but feel like wading through treacle today.

So I finally got the graphics up and added in movement. Still got to fix the transparency issue but fairly happy. As this is a #42School project for a course and my time is running out I've had to revert to using a single tile for the walls.

So I see Google added modes. I thought this existed but I think I was thinking of my old OnePlus or Galaxy. I was quite happy to use it...but it's pointless. Driving mode doesn't switch upon connecting to the car and despite doing 120Kph the device remained in regular mode (passenger was checking)

Another day, more stupid problems with the coding projects at #42 I think I'm going to take an early lunch today!

Have tried to stay off all social media for a few days, in fact just avoid most things other than some tutorials and docs pages. Decided to take a look at #Flutter, had a go at the word generator tutorial, and have decided to have a pop at making a task timer.

Been invigilating exams. the EO likes to make use of the displays in the exam room and I'm all for that. They currently use a digital clock app and a document for the exam information. Wondered if I could knock up a quick web page to show the information and do some of the 'calcs' for you.

Get in the bin you absolute gobshite. Explain how & why they are needed in government? Surely it would actually be better to have people who, you know, can actually run a business seeing as most entrepreneurs today seem to be huge grifters.
