Hey guys it's Grant. I honestly don't have the mental and emotional energy to support a single focus for my account for more than a few months so I'll be keeping this new name for whatever my focus is at the moment Right now I just happen to be feeling Mantlo's licensed books from the 70s/80s

I would say that Bug looks SLIGHTLY different than the Galactic Warrior figure 🪲😉 I'm also surprised Marvel got to keep the rights to Commander Rann after calling him Space Glider and having him use the flight pack Micronauts #2

I love the concept behind the original Takara Microman, not only were these 4 inch figures were supposed to be the actual size of the characters, but that they were miniature aliens pretending to be action figures

Comic Book Coping @comicsarelife.bsky.social · 8h

I've been taking a behind the scenes look at Mego's licensing of the Takara Microman line into the Micronauts and of Mantlo's lore building for the series Acroyear is I think the only toy that didn't get renamed by Mego, the actual Japanese name being Akuroiyā, a portmanteau of "evil destroyer"

I finally broke down and bought a digital copy of the first Micronauts Epic Collection

This is SO tempting I've only read two comics with Acroyear in my life, and sci-fi characters aren't my focus at the moment, but having a 6 inch figure who is supposed to be actual size is a recipe for good shenanigans Plus it looks awesome

I've discussed Doc's history in regards to the "sliding timeline" in many places before (he's outside of it, with his origins firmly placed decades earlier). Here's a recent thread where i being it back up because a recent book ignores the fact. 👇 bsky.app/profile/sanc...

So...Marvel Unlimited is going to be ending, and they're launching a new digital service operated by Webtoon starting next month, with an "ultimate" tier similar to what DC has been doing I REALLY hope the new service has better user interface than the DC

This was the last issue of David's Hulk I got back in the day. I'm not really sure why. The physical copy had a chromium cover, and I think the combination of gimmick fatigue and projecting the weird time I was going through personally onto the industry in general took it's toll

Sometimes the way Japanese mecha are named, and the way they sound to a dumb old Westerner like me, make me think of preschooler cartoon characters Dancouga sounds like he should be Daniel Tiger's cousin, and Patlabor sounds he should be a laborer who hangs around Thomas the Train

To clarify, Home Alone is already a movie about Kevin being a booby trap making sociopath, so I guess the undead thing would be the route to go

110

Comic Book Coping @comicsarelife.bsky.social · 02/10/2026

With a few tweaks, Home Alone would make a pretty good horror movie, either with Kevin as a booby trap making sociopath, or as Kevin defending his home from undead invaders who refuse to stay down despite lethal levels of physical trauma
