It's come to my attention that some people still don't know the history of the Fraser Institute, and why they shouldn't be trusted. Here's 5 reasons why you shouldn't trust the Fraser Institute.

Othman: 51st state is a comms op. The plan is territories + Cromwell. No one's actually considering representation, even after we solve their problems.Othman calling leftism "anti-civilizational" because it is ""pro violence" via slave-moralist support".

Karen Attiah said that America worships violence.
For everyone saying political violence has no place in this county...

Remember two Democratic legislators were shot in Minnesota just this year.

And America shrugged and moved on.Political violence has no place in this country...

But we will also do nothing to burb the availability of the guns used to carry out said violence.

The denial and empty rhetoric is learned helplessness - because the truth is..

America is sick and there is no cure in sight.Because America, especially white America, is not going to do what it needs to do to get rid of the guns in their country. It will be thoughts and prayers, "violence has no place" out of a performance of goodness, not out of the resolve to convince their communities to disarm. For everyone saying political violence has no place in this county...

Remember two Democratic legislators were shot in Minnesota just this year.

And America shrugged and moved on.

Matthew Dodd said that hate begets hate.
“Hateful thoughts lead to hateful words, which then lead to hateful actions,” Dowd said, adding: “You can’t stop with these sort of awful thoughts you have and then saying these awful words and then not expect awful actions to take place.”

Dowd also speculated about the circumstances of the shooting, saying: “We don’t know if this was a supporter shooting their gun off in celebration. So we have no idea about this.”

Kimmel said that the shooter is not who MAGA is trying to characterize him as.
"We hit some new lows over the weekend, with the MAGA gang desperately trying to characterize this kid who murdered Charlie Kirk as anything other than one of them, and with everything they can, to score political points from it," Kimmel said.

"In between the finger-pointing, there was, uh, grieving. On Friday, the White House flew the flags at half-staff, which got some criticism, but on a human level you can see how hard the president is taking this," Kimmel said, before cutting to a clip where Trump responded to reporters asking how he was doing by pointing to construction going on at the White House.

"This is how a four-year-old mourns a goldfish," he said.

So groups like Canada Proud/Mobilize Media Group (a private arm of the Canadian Conservative Party) create astroturf orgs like "Canadian Crime Watch" and use them to do political advertising. Then, just before the official election dates they suspend their campaigns so they don't have to register.
In the weeks leading up to the writ drop, Canada Proud spent over $274,000 on Facebook and Instagram ads attacking Mark Carney, but stopped advertising once the election was called and strict rules around third-party advertising kicked in.

Hiding in this story is one of the most WTF statements I've read in a long time. We live in an era where we are bombarded with more political advertising than ever, and yet registered third party advertisers have dropped from 154 to 99. This is a big deal. theijf.org/right-wing-i...
In the 2019 federal election, 154 third parties registered with Elections Canada. There are only 99 third parties registered for the 2025 election so far, and less than half have submitted interim financial returns which disclose where their funding comes from and how it is being spent.

- records showing the VPD pulled his license plate multiple times - Allam being fired for saying that, if it were true, he wouldn't stand behind the mayor on it - and Katie Lewis having 17 people confirm it OTR
Katie Lewis writes:

I just want people to know that I am still doggedly (yes, cliche) workong on this story. I hate corruption. I think there is a lot of it in #vancouver. I think we need to call it out. #vanpoli #bcpoli

I know there are a bunch of other very good reporters trying to do the same. This is a very hard story.

If you can't get anyone to go on the record, you technically have no story, even if you confirm it with 17 OTR sources.

Plus, knowing someone will likelyt sue you.

And I will say, I've covered hundreds of stories, likely thousands at this point. This is a biggie, probably one of the biggest stories ever. 17 people told me it[...]
