For a long time I've wanted a sense of how trump has or hasn't interacted with chatbots (we know he posts a lot of slop sure). And this TIME anecdote about Grok arguably leading Trump into war is just extremely bracing
Since returning to office, Trump has marveled at AI’s capabilities. He is increasingly in thrall to the tech executives courting him. In December 2025, Elon Musk returned to the Oval Office for a clandestine meeting. Trump spent hours asking Grok, Musk’s AI chatbot, questions about his presidency and legacy, according to an official present. At the time, Trump was ordering missile strikes against Venezuelan boats he alleged were smuggling drugs into the U.S. He asked Grok how Venezuelans would react if the U.S. captured Maduro. According to the official present, the chatbot responded that Maduro was a repressive and deeply unpopular dictator and that many Venezuelans would likely celebrate his downfall. After Trump ordered the mission to seize Maduro, the following month, celebrations broke out in the streets. Trump, according to officials, came away thinking Grok was ingenious.

One of the most striking things about the ongoing work of reconciliation is the way apologies and working towards good relations often reveals more work that has yet to be done. Reconciliation is not a one and done event, but rather an ongoing process. /

wow
For 170 years, Chicago Theological Seminary has prepared bold leaders to put theology into action, advancing justice, interreligious engagement, and transformative leadership in the church and public life.
Today, CTS and Yale Divinity School are pursuing a proposed affiliation grounded in shared commitments to theological education, public leadership, and communities dedicated to justice. The proposed affiliation envisions carrying CTS’s mission forward as the Chicago Theological Institute at Yale Divinity School, creating new possibilities to extend the reach and accessibility of this work.
This is an important moment of transition for CTS, but our central message is clear: the institution is changing; the mission is not.
Visit the CTS website to hear from President Braxton, read the full announcement, and explore FAQs about the proposed affiliation and what comes next

I wouldn’t compare Houston to NYC or Chicago, both great, world-class cities imo. But I do think Houston has its own vibe that’s hard to pin down. It has the sprawl of LA, the swampy bayou feel of New Orleans, a ton of different cultures, and then it has a coastal/Gulf of Mexico climate, and it has that unmistakable Texan obsession with all things Texas. It’s also very working class, which I appreciate. If you want to find the hipster countercultural vibe, you can find it in little pockets, but it’s not ubiquitous like it is in Austin (sorry to bring up Austin again). Also, for those who are into hip-hop culture, it has a hugely influential scene. I like it.

I can see where some of the hate comes from, because it’s true that if you live outside the 610 loop, it is exactly how people negatively describe it: freeways, strip malls, concrete in every direction. The inner loop is really cool though, and there lots of good parks and the bayous are pretty at times.

Big subtext: Hamilton is proving to be a hard target for the GOP. When Vance attacked his faith, a local UMC bishop and 120 UMC pastors issued statements defending him. When his competitor Sen. Marshall called him a pastor who is "too woke for Kansas," Marshall's *own pastor* suggested otherwise.

But the attacks have also revealed the positive reputation Hamilton has forged among his co-religionists. Last week, David Wilson, the United Methodist bishop who oversees Hamilton’s regional conference, published a statement dismissing attacks on Hamilton by Vance and Marshall as “inaccurate and unwarranted,” describing them as an “invective against the church, of which Adam is the founding pastor.”“The language used, in effect, criticizes fellow Christians merely for living up to what Jesus taught in the Gospel texts,” wrote Wilson, who oversees the Great Plains Annual Conference.

A few days later, 120 UMC pastors from across the state signed a public letter to Marshall, urging the senator and the Vice President to tone down the rhetoric.

“When you attack Adam’s pastoral ministry, his home congregation, and our denomination as a whole, you sow seeds of division and dissent,” read the letter. “You tear at the fabric that is the body of Christ.”

And when Marshall derided Hamilton in August as a “megachurch pastor that’s too woke for Kansas,” Hamilton’s campaign quickly noted that the pastor of Marshall’s own non-denominational church has publicly referred to Hamilton as a “middle-of-the-road pastor who is willing to listen to all sides.”

The president ordering USPS to illegally throw out millions of ballots is at least on par with what he tried to do for 2020, and in big ways it's worse. It's another attempted self-coup, trying to create a fake Congress. That he's even attempting it is already a deadly serious constitutional crisis.
