The 65+ demographic voted 75% to leave. They are now 75+… 80+ by the time any new referendum happens.

A man builds an IED. He sets it off in a busy public street. Shrapnel flies about hitting cars, homes and a child's bedroom. It's a miracle nobody is injured. And Reform MP Sarah Pochin calls his imprisonment "disproportionate" and "two tier justice."
It does raise this point of two-tiered
justice..

Reform's Sarah Pochin believes the
sentence handed to the 64-year-old who
blew up a ULEZ camera was
disproportionate'.

With an article like that, this journalist should join a paper more suited to their level - the Daily Express. Oh wait, you’ll have to wait until Harvey Jones passes on. The FT charges a premium… and I’m the sort of person who could subscribe. But when I read drivel like that, I’m not likely to!

There is no evidence or claim that Shakespeare went to university, and only the belief that he went to grammar school. The identity of Shakespeare is unknown. People communicated, learned songs and stories without literacy skills. Scribe was a specialist job for a reason. GOAT writer is subjective!

Some things never change! 😂 The oldest known written customer complaint dates back almost 4,000 years! An angry customer called Nanni complained to his copper merchant about poor quality product, lack of refund, and rude customer service! Sound familiar? 📷 Zunkir #EpigraphyTuesday #Archaeology
The image by Zunir shows a tall, rectangular ancient clay tablet densely covered with rows of cuneiform text, displayed upright on a clear stand against a dark museum background. The tablet is Nanni’s famous letter of complaint, written on a clay tablet to a copper merchant named Ea-nasir. Nanni complains that he has been sent low-grade copper, rather than the high quality copper agreed. Ea-nasir has treated Nanni and his messengers with contempt, sending them back without a refund, and telling them "If you want to take them (the copper ingots) take them, if you do not want to take them, go away!" 😮

The complaint was inscribed on a clay tablet using cuneiform script, one of the earliest systems of writing, characterized by its wedge-shaped characters. Tablet dimensions: height 11.6 cm, width 5 cm. Old Babylonian period, 1750 BC.

The tablet was excavated by Sir Leonard Woolley at the ancient Mesopotamian city of Ur in modern-day Iraq in the 1920-30s. Acquired in the division of finds.

Carl Sagan worked for a year with a diverse team to assemble the Golden Record that accompanied Voyager 1 & 2, both of which have now left the solar system. But how would an alien civilization play a golden record & how could a phonograph record contain sound AND image data? Let's talk about it.
Carl Sagan shows the *Pioneer plaque*, not the Golden Record design. This was decried as "smut in space!" by hand-wringing weirdos, which is the reason the Voyager probes don't show naked humans on it.

The sorts of CVs that get interviews these days would have been thrown in the bin for being unimaginative and boilerplate 15 years ago. Usually there is a request from us to get a list of notable projects and releases that we can check out beforehand. The sort of info that used to be included.

Colin Troy @colintroy.bsky.social · 21/08/2026
This process has killed the art of writing CVs. Nobody writes down what successful projects or products they’ve worked on and in what capacity. It’s just a list applications, processes and dev tools I know they are already competent with as they’ve been in the industry for years.

Ulez led to better lung size and function among London children, study finds
Researchers find capacity stunted by pollution was restored after introduction of ultra-low emission zone Children’s lungs grew bigger and stronger after the most polluting vehicles were restricted from entering London, a study has found. Examinations of London schoolchildren before and after the introduction of the city’s ultra-low emission zone (Ulez) found a restoration of lung capacity that had been stunted by exposure to pollution. I had an American CEO (Harvard pinky ring) comment on how much smarter the UK office staff were. He did point out that if he needed someone to work 60 hours, the Americans won on that argument.

Even if you are grossly unprepared and have 30% in your head, you’ve just made an argument about DEI and the counter-question is incoming. At that point, alarm bells should be ringing in your head that whatever you say will be an overestimate. You don’t then say 30% and get egg on your face.
