It’s interesting how your solution to keeping people’s rights to buy disposable barbecues is to police beauty spots and fine people for being there.

Maybe a disposable barbecue police officer tax premium would pay for it. Extra £10 per barbecue sold

So sending police to patrol remote areas is the priority now? So people in flats can have disposable barbecues? Send the police into all the wooded areas? How many extra officers should we recruit for that? And what if they aren’t exactly where they need to be when a fire starts?

Nothing beats the Stay Puft marshmallow man in Ghostbusters. Pictured is the Atari 8-bit version. A single sprite (called Players in Atari speak) could be 256 scan lines tall (taller than the screen itself) and had multiple pixel widths. 8 pixels wide apiece, this one is two players side-by-side
End level boss of ghostbusters - stay puft marshmallow man - jumping over the narrow doorway to Zuul atop the high-rise building. Get your timing right or be squished!

To put it bluntly, Margot & Jerry have finally started going green
Barbara, Tom, Margot and Jerry from the 1970s BBC sitcom The Good Life. Tom has given up his white collar job to lead a better life going green with his wife Barbara. Their status obsessed neighbours are not so convinced about this about turn, nor about their neighbours keeping pigs in the back garden.

Not able to remember any particular game as most were endless, but the first (probably only) text adventure I ever completed was Stranded by English software on the Atari 8-bit
Stranded title screen: says welcome to stranded by d. Wood house and c. Hughs. Copyright 1984 English software. Your mission is to return back home to civilisation. Press any keyThe game takes place on an uninhabited planet. The first screen shows you on the ledge of a cliff with basically drawn mountains in the distance. The lower half of the screen is where the text adventure takes place.

Text says: you are on a Rocky Mountain path. Exits lead north east. You can see a fuel capsule.

The game then awaits your text input for instructions of what to do next.

Mine charges a penny for a drawing of someone’s ass 🤷‍♂️
Table of tolls above the toll house at Wilford toll bridge, Nottingham

Among many other tolls taken under the Wilford bridge act 1862, it reads ‘for every ass drawing or carrying of one person, 1 pence’

Does carrying 1 person include piggy back rides? Ass drawing message is near the bottom.

Below the toll sign you can read that the toll booth is now the bridge sandwich bar

Yeah I see warnings of increased electricity usage, but in the UK electricity usage has been declining for a long while now. There are genuine issues though - noise pollution being a major one.
UK electricity usage graph, peaks in 2003 at around 380 gigawatt hours, but has declined since by 100 gigawatt hours to 1985 levels and still trending downwards.

Mine would be (read alt text)…
Atari Assembler Editor User Manual.
The moustachioed Burt Reynolds style man on the cover of this manual is the closest thing to a role model I had as a kid. I would imagine being this sort of guy, typing on an Atari 800 with his right hand, while holding a coding note in his left. Married, with a short sleeve blue check shirt and multiple pens in his top pocket, this man is confident, successful, tanned, smiling, and on a good salary. Behind him are electronic component storage drawers and a row of coding/electronics books. To his right are two disk drives - one atop the other. To his left are an open binder with (presumably) coding notes, and a red desk lamp.

I got my Atari assembler editor cartridge when aged 12.

26% below the price cap tomorrow - have had windy days where electricity becomes free on a tracker tariff. Not sure where we’re losing? They get paid to not generate because it’s more expensive to shut down/restart gas turbines.
Energy prices on the Octopus energy tracker showing the electricity price at 18.88p per unit tomorrow. Based on the tracker, I decide whether to put the dishwasher on tonight, or delay it for the wee hours.
