Putting the books down for a bit to watch #WheelofTime S3. #WotSkies. Can’t decide what I love most about these 3 eps: Morgase is a right Royal bitch ❤️ Elaida, rightest royal-est bitch, is EPIC ❤️❤️❤️ The pretty-boys-Trakand, and their screaming fangirls, lol. (Gawyn even LOOKS like a posh twat 🤣)

#WoTShowSpoilers Fan Event well worth staying up late & being knackered at work today! 🤩 The costumes / sets.. The Mega-Aes Sedai-showdown And we’ve still got Elaida to look forward to! Really nice touch having Rafe and Madeleine pop up in the live chat. (Show Egwene > Book Egwene yet again! 😂)

On to first read of #KnifeofDreams, this is better! #WheelofTime #WoTBookSpoilers Can’t say I had “Cheering like a lunatic for Galad, of all people” on my bingo card but… Good for you Galad, YOU GO Galad! That man was a scumbag and a half. 😤 (Not a fan of real OR fictional religious fanatics).

#WheelofTimeSpoilers #WotSkies #Winter’sHeart first read through: Puke, nearly forgot that wicked wee bizzom Renna is still alive. I hope she runs into our latest human-nuke, and sul’dam hater extraordinaire. Mat, put that girl back where she came from or SO HELP ME! Cadsuane is still Epic. 🤩

Here are the visuals to illustrate the parallels I found between shots in the #WheelofTime S3 trailer and artworks from Western Art History. These connections struck me because of my art background, but may or may not be on purpose. Classic art like these live in our collective knowledge. #WoTSkies
An image displaying the visual connection between a shot from the S3 trailer and an artwork from western Art History.

Above is Moraine as Amyrlin cradling dying or dead Rand who has an injury in his side. Below is a Pieta from Spain. Pietas are Christian artworks displaying Mary the mother, cradling the body of her son Jesus.

This shot is obviously on purpose. The Mother is cradling to dead saviour.

#WheelofTime first #CownofSwords read though. (Spoiler) My favourite plot twist so far: Big, bad, terrifying boss-bitch Elaida knitting when she’s stressed out. I love that. I do actually feel sorry for poor old Mat in this one though - that Queen Tylin is a sex-pest and a half!

First #WheelofTime read through and that’s me in the middle of #ACrownofSwords. Holy shit, Cadsuane is a BIG noise isn’t she? This feels like the General-Leia-Organa-of-WOT-universe dragging herself out of retirement to dish out an arse kicking. Still not sure whose, but excited to find out..🤩

Oh god.. OH GOD!! 😍 It’s as cool as they say it is: I made it to the famous bookshop in Buenos Aires. YOU CAN SIT AND READ YOUR BOOK IN THE OPERA BOXES!! 💙📚 Unfortunately I can’t read Spanish properly, so back to my kindle, and #WheelofTime book #7 I go.
El Ateneo Book shop in Buenos Aires. A classic theatre with ornate decor converted into a book shop. The stage contains a cafe, and the seating area is full of bookshelves. The upper floors also contain bookshelves, and the private boxes are in use as reading/seating areas. View up into a circular triple height space in el Ateneo book store. Previously the entrance hall of a theatre.
Upper floors have bookshelves, ground floor is the street entrance surrounded by columns. The upper floors have ornate wrought iron balustrades.

Can’t turn around in Doha without bumping into a bit of Simsima limestone. Rough blocks used for landscaping/ garden walls everywhere. Picked up a small bit from a vacant lot with a nice chert lens, and had a look with my crappy little pocket phone microscope. #urbangeology #Doha
Pale brown/off white limestone wall made up of rough limestone rocks approximately 10 cm diameter. Topped off with unpolished limestone slabs of the same rock. Small piece of Simsima limestone 5 x 10cm. Beige / light brown in colour, with a darker grayish chert lens visible on one side. Broken into two parts, and cm scale ruler on the left of the photo. Landscaping limestone boulders roughly cut into cube shapes 50 x 50 x 50 cm. Used as outdoor seating with a wooden plinth on top visible to the extreme left of the photo. Scale ruler placed on top of the block.
Limestone is light yellowish brown and finely crystalline in texture. Microscope photo of fresh broken limestone surface. Pale grey to off white in colour, fine crystalline texture.

Just some building stones from my own neighborhood in Doha today: polished limestone wall and granite paving cobbles. Not sure of the provenance of these, the limestone may be local, the granite definitely won’t be. #urbangeology #pavementgeology
Close up of dark grey and brown mottled limestone. Polished to a shiny surface, with a hand on the left of the photo for scale. Small granite paving cobbles with a hand for scale.
