Much as I love the books, the show has been better at depicting complex, interesting characters. (Pretty much all of them tbh but Liandrin stands out most for me). Siuan storyline is better in the show, and the series has cut some of the sillier book romances out, thankfully!

To find out the perspective of people whose lives are very different from your own: the world would be very dull if everybody thought and did the same things. Not everybody is able to travel, but this is something most people can do quite easily.

I love the books as well as the show but much prefer TV Liandrin to book Liandrin. TV version is a much more complicated and interesting character, and her backstory being shown really adds a lot.

Overall, not my favourite of the books - too much politicking both in Team Camelyn and Team rebel Aes Sedai. On the other hand: “Birgitte Trahelion is a silly bint” -genuine LOL. Definitely dying to read the next one to find out WTF Tuon is actually up to though.. I still quite like Eaganin.

I think it’s part of its charm. They start out as teenage kids, who have to help save the world, and despite being good hearted people doing their best, they still need guidance from time to time. Kind of a running WoT theme that “massively OP doesn’t automatically equal wisdom/leadership skills”

#WheelofTime first #CownofSwords read though. (Spoiler) My favourite plot twist so far: Big, bad, terrifying boss-bitch Elaida knitting when she’s stressed out. I love that. I do actually feel sorry for poor old Mat in this one though - that Queen Tylin is a sex-pest and a half!

Oh god.. OH GOD!! 😍 It’s as cool as they say it is: I made it to the famous bookshop in Buenos Aires. YOU CAN SIT AND READ YOUR BOOK IN THE OPERA BOXES!! 💙📚 Unfortunately I can’t read Spanish properly, so back to my kindle, and #WheelofTime book #7 I go.

El Ateneo Book shop in Buenos Aires. A classic theatre with ornate decor converted into a book shop. The stage contains a cafe, and the seating area is full of bookshelves. The upper floors also contain bookshelves, and the private boxes are in use as reading/seating areas.

View up into a circular triple height space in el Ateneo book store. Previously the entrance hall of a theatre.
Upper floors have bookshelves, ground floor is the street entrance surrounded by columns. The upper floors have ornate wrought iron balustrades.
