Would it not be easier In that case for the government To dissolve the people And elect another?

I think the articles’ characterisation of his leadership - and his position on the Zionism is racism motion - is misleading and disingenuous.

I did and I think my point still stands - you cannot argue that Zack Polanski’s leadership has been anything other than a success. Their vote share increased and Labours decreased despite everything. Yes the Zionism debate has put him in a difficult position - his response is an attempt to unify.

I take the point in the article about trebling being potentially misleading because of the independents in the last election but even so their vote increased and Labours - with Burnham in his honeymoon period - decreased. Zack Polanski’s leadership of the Greens has been an unprecedented success

This is a bizarre framing - he TREBLED their vote share in a safe Labour seat in the face of a concerted media campaign against him. Before he was Green Party leader there was no question of The Green Party beating Labour in anything, it wasn’t even on the table.

It’s not a poll - it’s the actual result of the by election. Despite all the negative media coverage it’s a very strong result!

You can’t separate the climate crisis from what’s happening in Gaza. The root of both problems is a fundamentally racist political ideology that denies the climate crisis and wants to maintain and increase unsustainable use of resources to benefit rich nations at the expense of the global south.

Green parties in coalition governments have a terrible record of delivering on their aims (look at Germany). Better to stick to a clear position and assert pressure from outside government - and hopefully under PR in future exert more direct influence. They have already pushed Labour to the left.

Londoncolin @colcro.bsky.social · 07/10/2026
The Labour Party will never do any of those things (end arms sales to / impose sanctions on Israel or push in a meaningful way to decarbonise the UK economy). The Green Party is taking a clear position and people have a chance to vote for it and demonstrate the level of support for that position.

Everyone on X and elsewhere who called for a violent response should be charged with incitement. Everyone involved in the pogrom should be locked up with exemplary sentences. Govt should make it clear that will be the response in future anywhere else. Enough.

There’s no excuse for attacking other people based on their ethnicity. Neither poverty nor ignorance excuse this. Individuals are responsible for their actions even if they were misinformed. By all means blame the agitators and demand action on disinformation but that doesn’t excuse the aggressors.

It is, I’ve just seen examples, its horrific and should be called out and investigated by the party. But the idea that The Green Party are comparable with Reform when it comes to stoking antisemitism and racism is for the birds, it’s a tiny minority of greens and a deliberate strategy with Reform.

There’s a strong rule that’s existed for thousands of years among sailors. They know the horrors of the sea, so as soon as an enemy surrenders, killing turns immediately to rescue. The only exception is if the sailors of the ship are still under attack. The AIPAC Empire has no honor. It is cursed.

This choice of image, that headline and the reality of what happened to those Iranian school children this morning - we’re living in a sick joke of a world and it’s being rubbed in our faces.

Currently saying this about half way down their headline report - Reuters confirmed this hours ago I think?? - “State media said at least 85 people had been killed in an Israeli strike on a primary school for girls in Minab, Hormozgan province. The BBC has not been able to verify the reports.”

From Cameron onwards this country has had a run of TERRIBLE prime ministers. Personally I would include Tony Blair in that list - he was great at comms and getting elected but naive at best when it came to actual politics. His legacy (foreign and domestic) is pretty disastrous.

How long it will take for the UK to realise that going forward a defence alliance with the EU rather than the US is the only option that will give the UK a semblance of sovereignty? Hopefully the penny has dropped internally - obviously wouldn’t make sense for Starmer to say anything publicly.
