Well, we got to play two songs for the La Vida Festival at Cheyenne Mountain Resort last night before a gusher of a storm moved in and wrecked the entire festival. Sadly, that meant we didn't get to check out The Iguanas from NOLA, who were headlining. What a disaster!

What we'd like vs. what we have... Who wouldn't take a brand-new Oyster over a 50 year-old Hobie, right? Someday, maybe, we'll get a blue-water cruiser that we can do remote work from, and sail away to retirement. Dream big, even if you have to start small.

Bishop Castle, known to most Coloradans and many visitors to our state, is under threat from wildfires. And on my side of the mountains, air quality has been listed as unsafe, with recommendations to stay indoors or relocate temporarily if smoke is making you feel ill.

When we got this house "dried-in," plumbing, electrical final inspections, insulation installed, we couldn't wait to move in. We were already sleeping in it and using the rental for cooking and cleaning. We agreed that it was worth the extra work, moving everything multiple times. And it has been!

Often inspiring, or offering a moment for contemplation, a sunset is probably the most commonly photographed celestial event. But this uncommonly beautiful sunset picture was taken on a special day, the Equinox on September 22. Marking the astronomical change of seasons, on that day Earth dwellers experienced nearly 12 hours of daylight and 12 hours of darkness (an equal night). Reflected in the calm waters of Lake Balaton with a motionless sailboat in silhouette, the Sun is setting due west and heading south across the celestial equator. In the background lies the Benedictine Archabbey of Tihany, Hungary.
