There has to be something pathetic about vaguing somebody where they can see it, KNOWING they'll see it, and KNOWING they have specific issues that this will cause a spiral from and could potentially cause a mental breakdown bc they've been vulnerable to you about their triggers

My tl;dr disclaimer of if you consider using the words hybrid, half-breed, half-blood, mixed-blood, mongrel, mutt, etc. for your mixed race oc: Don't! Do not. Don't do that. Do Not. Do That. If you would use the word to refer to an animal or if your term hearkens back to blood quantum. Don't!

if you are determined to put effort into making your community anti-racist you have to include mixed people. they're part of your community and you have to include them and talk about the language used against them by all sides of the issue. you have to.

i have this issue really bad in ULTRAKILL which is hilarious because a lot of bosses would really contribute to a good parry but I only LAND parries if I am punching and happen to punch at the perfect time. But I am punching to hit. Not to parry. So.

Calling art history "Deep Lore" is wild when if you googled like .02 seconds to get the reference photo, there are so many pages that come up that actively talk about the history of Orientalism and the harm it has caused for years. This wasn't a weaponized attack to try to get people to stop using

More white queer people need to understand intersectionality, and learn to listen to other minority groups when they are being criticized. The audacity of white queer folks believing their queer identity should absolve them of other wrong-doing is crazy. You can be queer and racist. Check yourself.

The history of racism and orientalism is NOT your fun gpose or art challenge. You don't get to ignore the cultural significance of an art piece and the damage it has done to an entire people just because you think it would be fun to recreate it.

bc i have had a few people ask for clarification on odalisque THIS specifically is what you should NOT be recreating in ANY form. it is deeply orientalist. it is almost the pinnacle of the orientalism movement in art. do not recreate one with your asian OR non-asian ocs.

Yo, baby girl (or guy or whatever you are) it's okay if you experience burnout to the point that you can't draw for a while. You don't owe the world your art or nothin'. If you force yourself to try harder, you're gonna be miserable. Take the break and take it easy on yourself.
