Last day of September 2026 and our star performers, Venus and Mercury, inch closer to each other. Venus sinks while Mercury rises.

My son did warn me to put the legs of the recliner down as the power was going out, so I made breakfast and came back to eat it ... legs up of course. They may have to bury me in this thing.

Quite the acceptable pre sunrise Moon for the last day of September, a wagtail bird is sassing my cats. Nikon P610

Finally a cloud free shot of Mercury rising up to meet Venus. In a week or so they will swap places. Sept 29 Pixel 8a.

Just a bit early for Mercury but Venus is still up high.

Sandy's kits would be a week old now, unseen, but she comes in once a day for yummies and special bikkies. Lactating mums need the extra protein. She has moved the kits after the first week so enemies can't track the smell. Trusts us, even my son.

David Farley-Brain 🍄Keep Alaska Canadian!! @coffeedave.bsky.social · 27/09/2026

Somewhere out there in the west Mercury sits beside Spica and climbs towards Venus, but not for me.

We don't do Mericun harvest moons in Australia, just a regular full moon at sundown (yes yes, 2am tomorrow) caught on Pixel 8a Sept 26 2026. More later.

Just bought a set of "Dip Bars" for exercise purposes and attempt to retrain my brain to leg connections and muscle strength. They won't take up much to store and durable enough to leave outside even. (Yeah that is me in pic 2)

It truly gladdens me to see Fearless just loving being a cat. Almost fully socialised from being an untrusting fearful ball of spits and hisses.

Sandy cat (with the hidden kitties) is enjoying her special biscuits and yummies, extra protein doesn't hurt them. While eating Boots jumped up and she was unfazed, good for a new mum.

010

David Farley-Brain 🍄Keep Alaska Canadian!! @coffeedave.bsky.social · 22/09/2026

Well my wonky walker is here and awaiting approval by all the kitties, lined up like we were when Dad first got a car. Got me out of the chair easily and suspect I will most often use it folded.

David Farley-Brain 🍄Keep Alaska Canadian!! @coffeedave.bsky.social · 22/09/2026

Fearless is not a pat cat but she doesn't refuse some special biscuits. I have at times added regular biscuits but they are not fooled and sort them to the side.

David Farley-Brain 🍄Keep Alaska Canadian!! @coffeedave.bsky.social · 21/09/2026

@yllekaj.bsky.social Sandy seems to have dropped kits in the last day or so ... well hidden. The good news is she comes in for yummies and doesn't spit at the other kits like she did last time. Bodes well for her bringing them in early.

Yeah bit the bullet and got one of these on order, do have a wheelie walker for the shopping but this is like a 4 legged walking stick to get me outside when needed. My brain to legs co-ordination is out of whack.

I love mushrooms with their wonderful mushroomy flavour. Are they "meaty"? Not on your belly, only meat is meaty.

Possibly the last time I go out in the dark, risks increase, but for September 19th 2026 we have Venus high in the West then a line through Spica to Mercury barely visible near the trees (pic2). Pixel 8a.

David Farley-Brain 🍄Keep Alaska Canadian!! @coffeedave.bsky.social · 18/09/2026

September 18 2026 and apart from a waxing Moon high above Venus looks lonely in the West. I did hope Mercury would be seen by now down on the horizon, even used a chair as a walking frame to get a clear view, but alas no

Beef Rissoles and roti. Just a reminder: the only thing that looks like, smells like or tastes like meat is meat. If I choose to enjoy tofu or soy patties they are tofu or soy patties and never the twain shall meat.

Sandy cat is "fully loaded" with a belly full of paws and tails, due any time and thankfully fitting in with us and the other cats. Hoping she brings the kits in early this time, early means easy to adopt out. Then the spay.
