And my first Moon for October, it has been raining the last few nights. Oct 14 Nikon D7100 w 55-200mm

And lo ... except Venus refuses to appear from that band of cloud. Oct 14 Pixel 8a.

We will not be seeing Venus for too many more days as she sinks into the glow of dusk deeper daily, she will appear in the east in the dawn after she get to the other side of the sun.

Won't be much in the way of Planets today. 13th Oct 26. Sony a6000

Shooting toward the sun is never smart but I turned the Exposure Value down a notch and a bit on the Samsung WB800f Compact to produce this. Still got cloods so Planets unlikely later.

By the 14th we get the last glimpse of Venus as she chases the Sun, Mercury will continue to rise until the peak on the 16th and 17th when he too begins to follow Venus to chase the Sun.

010

David Farley-Brain 🍄Keep Alaska Canadian!! @coffeedave.bsky.social · 12/10/2026

Tonight the Moon will join Venus in the West with Mercury above .. but I have cloods.

October 11th 2026 and out with the Sony A7 but this time with a sweet little TTArtisans 17mm that catches heaps of sky in one bite. Full manua control and I love it ... here is tonight's Milky Way for you.

David Farley-Brain 🍄Keep Alaska Canadian!! @coffeedave.bsky.social · 11/10/2026

Once more Venus sinks lower and Mercury rises. 11th October, tomorrow the moon cuts a path between them. Pixel 8a.

Sandy is the best fed new mother ever, not hungry but on my lap every hour for a taste of yummies, I am rationing her now. Her visits are largely social and I fully expect her to bring the kits in this week.

David Farley-Brain 🍄Keep Alaska Canadian!! @coffeedave.bsky.social · 10/10/2026

Dosed Ginger for fleas last night and only Fearless and Fluffers to go. Fearless not taking bribes ATM but does like a morning cat bed, will leave her to enjoy that and dose when she eats. Fluffs can be gone for days but he will be easy.

Elusive Fearless cat luxuriating in a morning nap where she is safe in my company.

I am surprised how well this shot of the Milky Way turned out, heavily vignetted from using an APSC lens on a Full Frame camera and my hated autofocus lens too (I shoot Manual). Scorpio is visible pic 2, Corona Australis and Ptolomy Cluster Pic 3 and no idea what Pic 4 is yet.

David Farley-Brain 🍄Keep Alaska Canadian!! @coffeedave.bsky.social · 10/10/2026

Saturday 10 October and each day Venus sinks lower as dim Mercury ascends. I have also included recent days to compare.

David Farley-Brain 🍄Keep Alaska Canadian!! @coffeedave.bsky.social · 09/10/2026

Took the Sony A7 out with 2 lenses, Left a 25mm Pergear and Right a 10mm Fisheye lens. Shot the Milky Way for possibly my last time ... hardly made it back in again. Sharp eyes will pick out Scorpio.

Bloody donkey ... the word "plague"sounds scary but this disease is "Yersinia Pestis", treatable with common antibiotics. This whole "outbreak" is a chicken little event as Yersinia ia endemic on almost every continent.

000

David Farley-Brain 🍄Keep Alaska Canadian!! @coffeedave.bsky.social · 08/10/2026

It is only fair to give a side by side comparison. Left was last night the 7th October and the right is tonight's shot, Venus dropping radically.

000

David Farley-Brain 🍄Keep Alaska Canadian!! @coffeedave.bsky.social · 08/10/2026

No mistaking the speed at which these 2 planets are swapping places. Mercury rises steadily as Venus drops like a stone, a few days and she will be out of the picture. 8Oct26 Pixel 8a.

Every day huge improvements with Sandy, she actively seeks Robyn's attention.

David Farley-Brain 🍄Keep Alaska Canadian!! @coffeedave.bsky.social · 08/10/2026

Today 4 of our first batch (only lost 1 of 10 and the rest adopted out) still living here and now 2 year old beautiful funny clever cats.

010

David Farley-Brain 🍄Keep Alaska Canadian!! @coffeedave.bsky.social · 08/10/2026

Cally has had some of the most beautiful kits, Harley (pic 1) and Chernye (black fluffy) were both killed by snakes, Snowy I said yesterday "went to Qld". Sandy we have here with kits to be seen and she is a keeper due for a spay.

120

David Farley-Brain 🍄Keep Alaska Canadian!! @coffeedave.bsky.social · 07/10/2026

For a new mother Cally is surprisingly social this time though some are wary of her. She generally stashed her kits and most die over time ... Very pretty kits mostly.

000

David Farley-Brain 🍄Keep Alaska Canadian!! @coffeedave.bsky.social · 07/10/2026

A rare breakfast appearance from Cally (Calico), 90% feral and unmatchable and also looks to have had kits in the last few days. She will not bring them here.

David Farley-Brain 🍄Keep Alaska Canadian!! @coffeedave.bsky.social · 07/10/2026

Chicken Kiev or Chicken Kyiv, it matters little because I had it for breakfast. (It was getting lonely)

Mercury is now level pegging with Venus in the west. Venus will drop drastically over the next few days. Pixel 8a 7Oct26.

Afternoon yummies and most of the cats are sleeping, got 3 regulars.

061

David Farley-Brain 🍄Keep Alaska Canadian!! @coffeedave.bsky.social · 06/10/2026

Well Mercury has almost caught up to Venus in the west and will soon be higher, Venus is about to take a dive to follow the Sun.

David Farley-Brain 🍄Keep Alaska Canadian!! @coffeedave.bsky.social · 06/10/2026

Afternoon yummies and Sandy is joining in everything far better than we hoped.

Yet another very satisfying session with Sandy. It is impossible for feed, pat and film at the same time but when the camera was off there were long body pats and she loved them. Feral no more.

250

David Farley-Brain 🍄Keep Alaska Canadian!! @coffeedave.bsky.social · 05/10/2026

Wow Sandy, head scr is tches and body pats, she is getting very used to us. Next is pick up and put down.

Tonight Venus and Mercury put on a beautiful display in the West October 4 2026. In a few days they will swap places as Venus swiftly dives to circle the sun. Pixel 8a

070

David Farley-Brain 🍄Keep Alaska Canadian!! @coffeedave.bsky.social · 03/10/2026

Her brother "Snowy" ended up a cull (yeah I said he went to Qld) because when we were trying to win a cat over he was household policeman and drove them off while not reponding to the rules... SPAY. He had to go as much as I loved him.

010

David Farley-Brain 🍄Keep Alaska Canadian!! @coffeedave.bsky.social · 03/10/2026

Every day Sandy is accepting more pats and handling, certainly not shy of me and is up on my lap without hesitation. Becoming domestic now.
