I look forward to touring more of the middle of Canada. I wish there was a more cost effective and expansive rail network. Driving gets you the views air travel skips, but the driver doesn't get to enjoy it as much. (Not to mention all the other benefits of rail travel)

Four years ago my family, including 2 dogs and 4 guinea pigs, began the drive from Michigan to Nova Scotia to start our new lives. We had only visited NS twice before, but immediately knew it was where we were meant to be. Thank you for welcoming and accepting us with love and warmth.

Sounds like you have all the tools I do as well. If you solve the problem, please share! The only bit of advice I could offer is a five min walk outside. Getting the mail or to grab a package off the porch. That change of scenery helps me just as much as moving around.

Hard to believe this journey started in 2017 when we started reconsidering what the best environment to raise our family would be. Then, in 2022 we officially Landed in Nova Scotia. Canada is not perfect. No country is. Living here has exceeded every expectation I had. Thank you for accepting us.

Today was the big day. Proud to join my wife as a Canadian Citizen. Some great messages in the ceremony. Starting today, look for ways we can contribute to reconciliation with First Nations, Metis, and Inuit peoples. Uphold the foundational principle of accepting newcomers and their traditions.

I have a lot of interaction with IRCC and Nova Scotia LSI at work as well. Absolutely crushing how hard it is. Several of my team members haven't seen their families in years. Their kids have grown up without them. Heartbreaking.

My wife is already a dual citizen, so the kids are applying as a descendant of a Canadian. I was able to apply for permanent residence as the spouse of a Canadian. With all the fuckery south of the border, applications like my kids have exploded, slowing down the process

I applied as a permanent resident. I satisfied my residency requirement in January this year and applied in the same month. So roughly 7.5 months to have my application processed. My kids are applying though a different path and are at about a year wait and still haven't gotten theirs.

I enjoy Excel, especially when it pays me more! Updating an expense form to add a bunch of if and sumifs functions to check dates versus week in a pay period, verify total hours that week met a min threshold, calculate the ratio shift to total billable hours so the correct location is charged.

Completely agree. Design is the most important thing. Somehow we figured out how to geotag e-scooters on their speed limit but can't figure out how to do it with passenger vehicles. Very peculiar!

4 ft pole on bike?

I passed a bicyclist going the opposite direction on a fairly narrow road and they had an orange stick or pole attached to their bike which looked about 4 ft long sticking out into traffic. I assume this is so they force passing cars to give distance but I assume there's no way that's legal right? If someone passes too close and scratches their car or whatever the bike rider would be partially liable or get cited for something?

It's crazy to me how few people understand how much distance their vehicle needs to safely stop. Average vehicle is likely one car length for every 15 km per hour. You've got people driving 130 km per hour on the 102 with less than one car length distance between the car they're following. Insanity!

In shocking news to no women, their health isn't prioritized. Not only are basic mammograms difficult to get, but when diagnostic criteria recommend MRI / ultrasounds they're impossible to get approved. Dense breast and cancer risk scores are being ignored causing real harm.
