Heading to Goblin Market today on Race St in Belvidere, NJ! My first time there, but I’m sure it won’t be my last. New pins, pendants, clothes, and creatures/minis! Next week, off to Dexlite 2025 in Morristown!

I made a super wild fabric collage that works nicely in blacklight, so grab a tab and gaze upon St. Falkor, in all his glory. This is also about my friends' store, where Falkor's head lives (well, in a nearby shed). All of the words in this post are true.
literally psychedelic collage of day-glo mushrooms, snakes, bunnies, flowers, stars, Falkor's (the luck dragon from Neverending Story) head, and a sign reading "R Scal Salvage Vintage"). The collage has a dark blue border. The whole thing has a glossy surface from laters of Mod Podge.

I know this is an old post, but this is too good not to share. My new vibe, from the amazing punkwithacamera.com The way I look at it is by digging deep into gratitude because nobody really knows what’s ahead.

I sometimes think about how there are only so many combinations of words and syllables to go around, and some of them are having a more interesting time than others.
Magazine cover in German language reads "Wiener Mode", which translates to "Viennese Fashion". Below the title are two women dressed in Victorian-era dresses and hats, in a small boat on a still lake.

I am happy to be vending at Cure Arena tomorrow, April 12th - at Trenton Punk Rock Flea Market! Bringing the weird, like I do. If you are in the Trenton area, come and check it out! The weather is gonna be crap. #coffeeAndCreatures #recycledArt #ttrpgMiniatures #njprfm #tprfm
A test setup for a market booth on a porch. There is a weird white tree with black branches, a white display stand holding TTRPG minis, a beholder on black and pink cabinet, a beholder cup rack, and many other very strange creatures. From the front of the table, a fabric banner reading "coffee and creatures" is hanging. It is badly sewn on purpose, and the letters are turquoise against the white background.

This has been a dream of mine for years, but I had to wait for a sign to show up at the thrift store in order to make it a reality. #TheYawningPortal is a big deal in a lot of folks’ TTRPG experiences, and certainly mine. And now there’s a #mimic mug!
A “wood” bar sign with “The Yawning Portal” written on it in poorly-done sign painter style lettering. At the center is a well, with two ropes going into it, and at the center of that is a beer mug mimic, with a grim lil expression on his face.Work in progress of the Yawning Portal sign. This...is a weird sign that was in the pictures and wall art nook at the Habitat thrift store, and I bought it because it says "PENGLE". The sign itself has four corner holes, similar to a vehicle license plate. Why did I buy this? I don't know. It was $2.80. Two bucks eighty for a mysterious thing!
A wooden bread board with a bowl of melted butter(?), 3 slices of a long loaf of bread, a spoon, and a bowl of alphabet tomato soup. the letters in the soup spell out "P-E-N-G-L-E".

Can’t stop love (or, since there’s another sign there: “can’t stop garage sale patch of lichen that looks like a heart”). Happy spring, bitches!
The word “can’t” is written on a picture of an intersection where there is a stop sign, a garage sale sign, and a tree trunk with a heart-shaped patch of lichen

I’d give me about 80-85/100 on these. Not a bad start. The humidity is shockingly low for spring on the East Coast, approx. 29%, so I was battling rapid paint dry times. Should maybe make this a rainy day activity!

 Vorbereitungen

Yes, not bad. Burned in, but not overexposed. I just have a cheap Speedball kit, which came with a UV lamp to expose the photo emulsion…never dealt with it before, it’s ok. Screen is now air-drying and printing comes next! #diy #silkscreen
A damp, greenish silkscreen bearing the same image as from yesterday’s post: a large fish swallowing a small fish while others flee in terror, with the caption “Don’t Panic”, followed by a tight formation of small fish swallowing the big one, with the caption reading “Organize”.

First time at silkscreen setup in …..fuuuuuuck….. lots of years. Did it work? Sorta? Was the emulsion fully dry before I burned it in, no don’t be silly. I may be much older now but no less impatient. So it failed, I washed it out and have another one ready to try again tomorrow. #diy #silkscreen
A blue-tinted image of a silkscreen with the word “Speedball” on the frame. The screen being exposed has the words “Don’t Panic” with an image of a big fish swallowing small ones while the other small ones flee in terror, and the counter image, which reads “Organize”. The small fish have formed a big fish shape and are attacking the former “big fish”.

I like the challenge of trying to blend in subversive art changes with the existing style of some crappy “art” thing from the thrift store. I think I did kinda ok here. Need to outline the teeth a bit more, probably. #TTRPGart #DreadGazeboJoke

#wip My current companions. It is so much fun to work on these guys. #beholder #Krampus #TTRPG
A pair of scowling creatures that are work in progress. On the left, the larger one is a beholder with just its central eye, and the rest is unfinished. Instead of teeth, there are holes for where the teeth will go. On the right, a Krampus is developing from an old Santa candle box thing. He still wears the Santa hat, but his eyes are now Krampus eyes, his nose is thin and devilish, and he has multiple sharp teeth. His long snaky tongue flops from his mouth.

How bored am I, sick with the flu? I just found an old email from 2015 and visited the website link that was in it. Obviously, the site wouldn't still be there....but it was!🥹 theworstthingsforsale.com?s=shitguitar @drewtoothpaste.bsky.social #oldinternetwasgreat
"Shitguitar" reads the entry on the website, followed by a picture of a toilet seat cover shaped like a guitar. The text below the image reads
"What kind of toilet-artist would make a toilet seat shaped like a guitar, but then not have the hole in the seat be the guitar's hole? Careless execution of a bad idea.
Which didn't stop it from being so popular it sold out."
There is text reading
"27 April, 2015" below that, which means that the entry itself was from April 28, 2015

Had a great time vending down in Bensalem, PA at #darksideNJ! #thebrokengoblet is a fun venue, the folks attending were cool & awesome, and we even made money. I am an honest fan of everything that #tprfm does, because they make such thoughtfully crafted experiences for the audiences and vendors.

I have my first art fair coming up since 2021, and I am pretty excited for it - not sure how many folks in my neck of the woods like TTRPG-based weird art stuff, but what the hell. Low vendor fee that supports a good cause, and I get to air out my weird artlings.

Last evening of vacation - it was a good one, but there's always some melancholia on the final night before work resumes.
A sidewalk in Denver, CO. A poem is stenciled on it, near a piece of cardboard where a homeless man once rested. The poem reads, "Maybe 100 years still in my pocket.
but it's too late, for all of us,
and in truth the only ship there is
Is the ship we are all on
burning the word as we go."
