My theory on my pedestrian and bicyclist collisions are higher is because pedestrians and bicyclists spend a disproportionate amount of energy avoiding injury or death. They pay attention because drivers refuse to.

Did you know you can still almost get hit by a car if you: make eye contact, don’t have headphones in, aren’t looking at your phone, it’s daylight, crossing in a designated crosswalk, and there is a stop sign? Cuz that just happened to me. But not surprising, it’s Calgary.
