One of the bigger men's soccer matchups of the regular season in Bloomington tonight. Add in a little home advantage (usually ~0.25) and we'd have Indiana favored by about half a goal.

In the spirit of promoting quality work, high standards, owning your effort, readability, and communication skills, I'm requiring my dynamics students to attach a "homework checklist" to every assignment they turn in this semester.
Homework Cover Sheet

Name: _____________________________________________

Please respond to these questions and attach this as a cover sheet to your assignment before you hand it in.

My mathematical work follows a clear, linear progression with every major algebraic substitution and integration/derivation step explicitly shown.
_____ Done this for all problems
_____ Done this for most problems
_____ Done this for some problems
_____ Done this for few problems

I have annotated my work with text explaining the physical principles being applied (e.g., 'Applying Hydrostatic Balance' or ‘Using the Quotient Rule’ or ‘Hold this Variable Constant’).
_____ Done this for all problems
_____ Done this for most problems
_____ Done this for some problems
_____ Done this for few problems

All final answers are boxed or underlined, and all axes on hand-drawn sketches or plots are clearly labeled with units.
_____ Done this for all problems
_____ Done this for most problems
_____ Done this for some problems
_____ Done this for few problems

I have verified my final answers against physical expectations (e.g., correct units/dimensions, reasonable magnitude, proper sign for the hemisphere/ direction).
_____ Done this for all problems
_____ Done this for most problems
_____ Done this for some problems
_____ Done this for few problems
If I am turning in handwritten work or equations, my writing is large enough and clear enough that we could show it on the classroom document camera right now and it would be legible.
_____ Done this for all problems
_____ Done this for most problems
_____ Done this for some problems
_____ Done this for few problems
_____ Doesn’t apply, all work is typed/typeset electronically

I have clearly circled or starred any specific steps where I became stuck or where I am unsure of my logic.
_____ Done this for all problems
_____ Done this for most problems
_____ Done this for some problems
_____ Done this for few problems
_____ Does not apply, there are no questions on which I got stuck or unsure

Disclose any outside help received, collaborations, group discussions, and so on for this homework assignment:

I believe that the overall quality of the work I am handing in today is:
	_____	Excellent
	_____	Good
	_____	Fair
	_____	Poor
	_____	Incomplete

The two questions on this homework that I want to submit for careful grading are (list TWO):

Can't use it for football yet (his method starts all seasons with a blank slate) but men's soccer is moving along fine. IU sitting at #7 based on games played so far. I love my retro, no question, but for efficient uploading to the web doing this in a modern way is a massive win.

I've tried off and on for something like 4 years to get David's original code converted into something modern. It has virtually no comments and he did some really weird array stuff & file writing to save memory. Now, finally, I have it. Except for single/double precision, got a *perfect* match. 🥳

And now, officially, a thunderstorm. Seeing that cloud initially gave me a little pause because I didn’t bother with an umbrella today. (My personal threshold is at least a 25% chance of rain, or I’ll risk it. Most of the time, works every time.)

I can’t see the rain shower that has popped up to our northwest, but I do have a view of this one that has just barely begun to sprinkle out past Lake Lemon. Even though our conditions today don’t support thunderstorms, it’s *so hot* that there’s enough rising air to get a couple of showers!

It still astonishes me that the city and others in the city would consider using a security company that won’t even keep its license plates renewed properly. Last year, multiple cars had plates expired for over two months. How do trust a company like that.

Fun but probably useless thing accomplished during lunch today: a graph of water vapor brightness over the region. Neat to see Thurs. morning's cluster of storms pop up for 6 hours. (non-nerds: tells us about the atmosphere's overall humidity & coverage of deep clouds and storms over the region)

Random data thought while I was on the bus home: is there a particular time of day that has bigger class wait lists (demand greater than seats available)? How are the wait lists distributed across the day? In the College of Arts & Sciences, it's pretty flat: similar excess need, regardless of time.
