Battle Royale Twister Ringu Given I had probably seen Battle Royale ten times in the span of a week as a teenager..... And Twister has been a hyperfixation since I was nine.... And Ringu still holds up to this day..... Ten times is waaaaaaay too low for these films

R.I.P. Masahiro Shinoda. My favourite auteur. His work deconstructed form, genre, narrative, history, and traditions, reconstructing everything with pure genius. Back when I used to be a semi-competent writer, I compiled this list. I highly recommend his Sapporo Winter Olympics film!

CINEWORLD'S 30 DAY FILM CHALLENGE Day 24: A film made by your favourite director To say I quickly became enamoured with Masahiro Shinoda's work would be a gross understatement. And this one, though not quite my favourite of his, is a shining example of cinema at it's most deconstructed Himiko

Sent this to the one whom I am completely smitten with in some attempt to maybe bridge a musical link. But I also realised: 2025 marks two decades since I fell head over heels in love with music. And Ayumi Hamasaki was one of those first artists I got into myself. Twenty years of sonic voyaging...

I've been tasked to do something that I normally wouldn't do for anxiety reasons. Doesn't have to be anything major, could be something as trivial as "wearing non-matching shoes". Aside from actually talking to someone random, or making eye contact, I've no idea! Ideas on a postcard, pleases?

It's been a month. What little joy I find in anything right now I snatch up. Because right now there is very little in my life that I can find any semblance of happiness. Falling back in love with the Manics and re-exploring jazz have been two things that light up this dark period for me.

I finally finished this last night, battling sleep to get those last ten pages read. Believe the soundbite on the front of this tome. The nonchalance with which Herr unfolds the horrors witnessed by combatants, civilians, and correspondents on both sides of the conflict is simply staggering.

Kissing ass up to AI, providing a layman's overview of population and demographics with absolutely zero substance and very little applicable context, and classroom-level clowning- I mean participation. Pfft. Sorry but nope. My inner Malthusian screamed, and my contempt for AI just grew tenfold.
