Or orientation of ring. It doesn't really matter!! I'd rather not twist my neck reading the ring in the hand than read 1/1000000 metal rings on a passerine with a scope

Awesome! Just a heads up, at the beginning of the Taxonomic Complex part the scientific name is written as Curraca instead of Curruca.

Isolation-by-Distance or Isolation-by-Environment in the Horned Lark?
The answer depends on the genomic region.

Striking differences in the alpine community of the Alps to the Carpathians I am used to. Privileged to be able to spend 2+ months and immerse into its ecology.

Hello Sean! I've thoroughly enjoyed reading the paper and the ENC seems like the answear to some questions i have about bird distributions. I will email you as soon as I can get my ideas together :)

Its helpful when down South friends (@tomgibo.bsky.social) visit North Wales, they manage to find cool things like this wood warbler nest! I had to visit myself and was amazed how close it was to a busy path, parents feeding the 5 chicks well still @rspbcymru.bsky.social @northwaleswt.bsky.social

Are this loggers accurate enough to detect altitudinal migartion over short distances? I'm interested in doing something similar with resident breeding Mountain horned lark in Romania, since we don't really know where most of the population overwinters.
