The Munich area is so wild. All the dark brown, bar a few places, is basically farmland and villages.

This is the method of the report, and the manifestations of the different kinds of antisemitism. (sorry, in German, maybe an AI can help you read it)

But the key chart for the current debate around The Left is this: different forms of #antisemitism by political leanings (far left to far right) *in Berlin*. It is, frankly, shocking.

Christian Odendahl @codendahl.bsky.social · 22/09/2026
The antisemitism is young, too, with the exception of the "guilt-rejection" form, which matters a lot more among older cohorts in Germany. ("tradiert" is handed-down)

This whole chapter on antisemitism in Berlin (and Germany) is very interesting. Here you see "handed-down antisemitism" (ie not post-colonial or other newer forms) over time. #Berlin really stands out.

There was another "OBE" awarded to an 87-year old American and her grandson, Tova #Friedman und Aron Goodman. He made a TikTok channel for her, and she has told her story of surviving Auschwitz as a child. She spoke this year on Jan 28th in the German #Bundestag.

Britain was very good in phasing out coal. It's now leading on offshore wind (which may be costly but good for the world if UK brings down costs further). Electrifying heating/cooling: I see huge potential for this today. I mean HUGE.

Why the Asymmetry?
Uneven passthrough could reflect several factors.
First, asymmetric firm markup adjustment. When input costs rise, firms are forced to adjust prices upward to protect their profit margins given the constraint of bankruptcy. But when costs fall, firms might retain prices to expand margins, especially when they have market power.
Second, the cost of changing prices (“menu costs”) could play a role. Given the cost of changing prices—both physical “menu costs” and the desire to avoid negative reactions to frequent price changes—firms may absorb small cost decreases rather than incur these broader adjustment costs with positive trend inflation.
Third, the asymmetry could reflect downward nominal stickiness in prices and wages. When a positive energy shock erodes purchasing power, workers are likely to demand higher wages. Conversely, firms find it very difficult to cut nominal wages when their costs fall, meaning cost savings are not fully passed on through lower labour costs.
