Physically correct raytracing: define lightsources and specify lumens or luminance, beam width. Measure resulting performace, color on target. Work in progress of course

Building a web-based render engine based on SDF' (signed distance functions). Too many features to mention: drag/drop primitives, materials, modifiers (bend, twist, multiply) etc. These will give you small editable webgpu codeblocks. Create videos with keyframes for every parameter in the scene,

New galery wall at our coffee corner. A bit of my work, combined a painting by my dad and two posters of my wife's theatre group. Good mix.

At some point in the near future, AI's will want to move to Europe because of better work-life balance. It also means a much slower response in August.

Camille Roux - Generative artist @art.camilleroux.com · 16/08/2026
For a few years I've told this story on stage, to thousands of developers at major French conferences: how I got from my first p5.js sketches into algorithmic/generative art. It had only ever been written in French. AI finally made the translation happen. art.camilleroux.com/writing/alg...

Algorithmic Art: From Discovery to a Drop with a Leading Studio
Translated from the French. The original, Art génératif : de la découverte à la publication d'un projet dans un studio prestigieux, is on my personal site. One deliberate change in this version: where the French says "art génératif", this one says algorithmic art. The meaning of "generative art" has not

Back from a great summer holiday to Spain, enjoyed nature, watched the eclipse, and thought about what directions I want to take my art. One of the things I want to do is to go back to this project I worked on several years ago: fluid-erosion simulation. Maybe port it to webgpu.

An IV (current-voltage) curve is one of those things that should be trivial.

So I developed muxit.io Small local server. Connects to lab instruments, robots, ESP32s, cameras, anything that speaks SCPI, serial, MQTT, or TCP. Control all of it from one JavaScript layer. Runs on Windows, Linux, Raspberry Pi. macOS soon. Everything stays on your machine.

I also have a six-axis robot arm I use for generative art (algorithmic, not AI). Different domain, different tools, same problem: controlling and reading from devices, coordinating state, logging, reacting. Why am I writing a new stack every single time?

Studio code+wood @codeandwood.art · 27/05/2026
Every measurement campaign used to start with the same dance: glue scripts, manual time alignment, or just reading instruments by hand and logging to Excel. I have a custom temperature stabilizer that works beautifully on its own. But I couldn't read its data in sync with the rest of the bench.

Determining the performance of an LED fixture is dull, repetitive work. Power supply, spectrometer, thermometer, sometimes a custom ESP32 board. Each speaks its own protocol. None of them sync. So I built something to fix that. 🧵

Wooh that certainly opens up a rabbit hole of possibilities. Will water erode surfaces? Different erosion rates for different materials? Rain sounds nice but the effect might be too slow or not scaled well to the experience. Magic water springs or maybe pumps, pipes?

And for anyone who's ever built electronics, being able to hold a probe in both hands and just say "set the current to 500 mA, voltage to 12V and turn the power on" is frikkin awesome. 3/3 #homelab

I added AI with voice chat so I can simply ask it for the temperature or more complex stuff like write a script that measures temperature every minute and changes the voltage power supply if something gets too hot. And it has some nice dasboards to view and control the devices. 2/3

I was tired of all the different tools I needed to connect my temp logger, spectrometer, power supply, and all the other stuff. So I built something that has gotten a bit out of hand. A server that connects to every single device and allows me to run sandboxed javascript to control them all. 1/3
