Maddison injury doesn’t sound bad but it’s definitely a concern that he appears to be made of biscuits. I really hope greater consideration of their injury history has been paid to for our more recent signings, as it was no secret this was an issue with him.

I’m a bit worried we’re trying to complete our entire squad in one window. I appreciate there was a huge amount of rebuilding to do, and forwards are still needed this window. But too many players at one time never works, and it’s important to see how new players settle before continuing to build.

It’s an interesting one for me. The keeper has made contact only with the player and not the ball. Textbook pen. But Kane did dive before contact was made, so it’s simulation. Is penalty and a card for Kane the right solution, and has that ever happened?

I’m not normally one to give any credence to conspiracy theories in football. I’m far more inclined to believe in incompetence and unconscious bias. However ending the West Ham game early and allowing 9 (13 in fact) extra minutes for a half with no unusual stoppages absolutely reeks of corruption.

Maybe I’m clutching at straws here, but this reads to me as good news (for Spurs) on Kulu. The implication is that he’s extremely close to returning and could have played in the World Cup if Potter had wanted to risk it. So would certainly expect him back for the start of next season.

It’s the nuances that count here. Yes we need an Arsenal win, but just 1-0, and in an unconvincing way that shakes their confidence. Maybe a red card as tempers flare later in the game. Or perhaps a not nasty, but ‘miss a game or two’ type injuries to a couple of players. That kind of thing.
