Without enforcement there is little point in putting up these notices. The fungi gangs were out this morning on #CannockChase. They had a spotter on look out and full bags, when seen they rapidly dispersed, they must have been out since first light🍄‍🟫🍄‍🟫

1600hrs Three of four Russian whitefront, at Roseford, south of Radford Meadows. As we watched a large flock flew over calling and the four birds calked and took off joining them. A further flock flew past and a total of 171 RWfg landed and counted on Radford Meadows @staffsbirdnews.bsky.social

Long-eared owl, Asio Otis, display flights can have very loud wing claps. They do not appear to be concerned by close proximity of tawny owl, Strix aluco #bioacoustics

The start of a classic French love song engraved by the steps to the tower of our church. A plea to Geoffrey, I wonder if the heartbreak did last for a lifetime?

Trouble with jackdaws. 2 of the 5 owl boxes cleared at Sherratts Wood Scout campsite contained abandoned tawny owl eggs. The jackdaws sit on top of the boxes and throw sticks onto the owl till it abandons. Other boxes taken over by squirrels. Better luck next year🤞
